Re: The Garrison RAIDER - An Open Letter to LLS

oh no...not again... after everything i have read of the Garrison Raider, and the wonderful pictures i've seen, i do believe i'm starting to get the itch again for another hat. very beautiful work LLS!!! One of these days if i can ever get permission from the wife for a new hat, i'll be a future cus...

Re: My Fedora saved my face....maybe my life!!!

hello ohio, although we've never met, i had a story i wanted to share with you, in response to your amazing life saving fedora story. 12 years ago when i was a teenager, a friend of mine was in a car accident, very much like the one you just went through. he was t-boned from the side, however minus ...

Re: How do you feel about sport'n you fedora in public?

I'm not even sure if i could describe of how i feel about sporting my fedora in public. I've always worn a fedora everyday, since i was a teenager, and after all this time now i don't even think about it when wearing my fedora in public, to me its just the same as a pair of shoes. Just as I put on a...

I find my fed 4 to be a little more snug than what i would want it to be, but its nothing really worth complaining about. one good thing about it i suppose is it takes a pretty strong wind to take it off my head.

It just shows how versatile the fed 4 can be.

I moved to Finland because it is where my wife lives. We met online, and after talking for a few months I came over here to visit in summer of 2007, and have been here ever since. Couldn't be happier :)

here it is.... Things can be hand made and still made in a factory. Textile factories employ many people to make individual parts of the hats. For example, one person might cut all the hats by hand and hand them off to another who blocks and steams them by hand, and then another bashes them "by...

from what I can see, all of this boils down to a topic that everyone will have to agree to disagree. Some like the christy's, some don't. Some will say it is of a good quality and SA and will stand by it, and others will believe the opposite. Like the christy's i have, I don't think its hardly worth...

Anywho... You don't walk behind the plow in your Sunday shoes, right? You don't run the Baja 5000 in your Camry, right? This hat IS NOT made for alligator rasslin'. Why, for a hundred bones, would you expect it to be? That said, it does hold up. It holds up well. If you can do it in a Wested, you c...

and just to make something clear, as i've seen in previous posts on this thread of some getting upset when the christy's was put down. i'm not putting the christy's down in anyway. i admit my christy's didn't turn out to be worth much, but that doesn't mean all the christy's adventurers are like tha...

well fedora, it would seem you and i have the same problem with hats. most hats i've ever had, have never lasted much longer than a couple of months before calling it quits. and I have to agree that some of these christy's are quite the anomaly, as my christy's didn't last more than a couple of mont...

well, i do believe i've found a new way to soften up a fed 4. although i can take no credit for it. yesterday my hat fell from the coat rack and my dogs decide to play with it while i was taking a nap. from what i can tell there isn't any damage to the hat, but boy is it soft.

oak, with the felt being tough as nails, it sounds exactly like the kind of hat i need. and any small mistakes on your hats i would see as giving it character, more than it being a mistake. kinda like my dining room table, is a 300 year old wooden table, lots of imperfections everywhere, but i see i...

i've been waiting for my fed to soften up a bit more before doing more to it, but with all the comments i've gotten on my bash, i'm starting to think i should just leave it as it is. :)

well then, its a good thing i don't live in Louisiana anymore and moved over seas to finland. back home i would pretty much never be able to wear your hats if they're that warm. hehe. even the winters in Louisiana are never very cold. may be a bit cold in the morning, but by mid-day its quite warm. ...

to current penman owners, I've got a question. I ordered a penman recently, and i was curious how thick the felt is? now first, i understand that the thickness of the felt has nothing to do with the quality. but for me the thickness is important, because during the winter it can get pretty darn cold...

I don't mind it at all when I hear Indiana jones comments about my hats and my leather jacket. I welcome them. :) Like one day here at my horse ranch, when two stallions broke the fence to their part of the field and were chasing after one of our customers mares. to make a long story short, i had to...
