I'd bet they went with whatever the prop house had kicking round in 1980 that fit the pistol. Elastic makes a world of difference to ease of use with a shoulder holster arm strap - whatever the lighting brown leather would still look pretty brown. I can agree to that! Yes odd specs. 7/8” is the CS width but did not have the edge grooves.

Is it heavy or rather lightweight? That was my question. First of all, I love the color and texture! What is the weight of the whip? I have a 10’ Jacka CS and Todd’s 8’. They probably electroplated it. You use a special paint with metal in it that attracts the metal being used in the electroplated process, probably nickel in this case.
