Re: Boot repair?
Ouch! That doesn't look good. I know this is off topic, but what kind of boots are those? They're the Land's End Crosby Moc Toe boots. I've had them for a few years. They're pretty good and beat up now. Not Indy-level beat up, but getting there naturally. I would imagine any halfway decent shoe rep...

Boot repair?
I have a pair of "close enoughs" and one of the quick lace hooks broke off. Is that something I can fix myself or would I have to take it to a repair shop?

Re: Land's End Canvas Crosby boot: A second look
I received my Lands End Crosby boots about 2 weeks ago. I think they are good value for the money I paid. Only trouble I found with them is how stiff the leather is around the top of the boot. After wearing them for 2 days, I had two gouges in my ankle where the leather had rubbed against my ankle ...

Re: Land's End Canvas Crosby boot: A second look
I just got mine in the mail and boy am I relieved! I read one review that said they ran small, so I ordered a half size bigger. Then I read a bunch of reviews that said they fit perfectly so I was really concerned they were going to be too big, which is an even bigger problem since they sold out aft...

Re: First Time Experiences Wearing Your Indy Gear
The first time I wore my gear it was to the midnight screening of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It was all "close enough" gear, costume fedora, shirt, pants and boots, but it got the point across and everybody loved it. I even took a few pictures with people, which was a new experience for...

I'm so happy I found this thread! I found and ordered the boots online today and they were even on sale! I should get them in plenty of time to break them in before Raiders in IMAX!

Re: The Federation IV Display Page
A couple of weeks ago my fiance and I had our engagement photos taken and I got to wear my Fed IV for the shoot. We went for a vintage '40's kind of feel (I had Indy's and Marion's last scene in Raiders in mind), so I wore a suit and my favorite hat. The shots turned out real nice, and this one is m...

Yeah, it snowed real hard most of the morning. That's the hardest I think I've ever seen it snow in person. It's stopped for now but they're saying it's supposed to start again late this afternoon.

It's a franchise that people expect to see the same stuff. He's known for his look. Would his gear have changed over the course of 20 some odd years...I'm sure it would have. Then it wouldn't be Indy. So Indiana Jones running around a cemetary in a pair of black pants or a t-shirt wouldn't be India...

Personally, I think Indy would prefere to wear the strap under the jacket for the simple fact that the bag won't slip off so easily. Ever try running around like the way Indy does with the bag over the jacket? Also, if you're out and about, having the strap under the jacket prevents it from being s...

Should the gear have changed?
I don't know if this has already been brought up for discussion; if it has, please feel free to delete this thread. Should Indy's gear have changed for Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull? Sure, it's things like the hat that help identify Indiana Jones, but in the 19 years between movie adventures, shouldn...

So I'm watching the Pre-Production feature on disc 1 of the KOTCS blu-ray and at about 9:30 or so into it, there's a shot of Harrison, in full costume, talking to Steven and he's got the bag under the jacket and he's wearing the gun belt the right way. I think they were doing screen or lighting test...

I think people underestimate how brown the Indy pants should be. Plus, the light Cabelas shirt makes the pants look darker. I bet that a more screen accurate shirt color would make the pants look lighter. Still, I stand by that shirt as the best close-enough on the market. Agreed. I think most Indy...

I can see why you think they're too dark. They're definitely darker than other khaki pants I find at the store, but they're not quite brown either. I think once they've been worn enough and they've been through the wash a few times, they'll lighten up a bit. Like Big Rex and Ark Hunter said, it all ...

In the age of filmmaking where Spielberg replaces shotguns with walkie-talkies (E.T. Sure, to the public, he's more famous for his bullwhip than his gun...

adding weight to a toy gun?
I'm using one of those dollar store plastic toy guns because I can't see dropping $50 on an Airsoft that could easily be mistaken for a real gun that I'd be afraid to take out into public. Anyway, the toy gun is good enough, but it's very light. Is there anything I can do to give it some weight or t...

I picked up a pair of these Lee double pleat khakis at Kohls tonight for $20. The color is "twig" and I think they're pretty close for a low cost "close enough" alternative. They don't have the back pocket flaps but I think I can live with that. http://shop.lee.com/storefront/lee...
