I have aways been an Indy fan. It Raiders was the first movies we recorded off of HBO on our first VCR. Which seems like it was yesterday, and not decades ago. I do not have an outfit, I carry no gas mask bag, just a leather satchel, and the fedora, I can aways be found wearing, is grey. The bull wh...

Thank you, everyone. I like to examine the pros and cons before beginning an adventure such as this. Did the same with the para-cord cord whips I made. Number three and four have started but I want to try leather. I can now see how the bolster would be more scructual then I previously thought. Thank...

Plaited Bellys, or Bolsters?
When working with leather, cow, goat, or roo, is it better to use bolsters or just to do plaited bellies? Is it a preference for the makers, or is it for the function of the whip? Getting prepared to move up to leather and was just wondering what everyones thoughts are on the topic.

I'm working on the second para-cord whip. I'm going 8 footer on this one. On my six footer I used the double shot with one empty single for the core. I used an 8 plait belly, and 10 plait overlay. Should I have more layers of plaiting? The next whip I'm changing the core with adding one more shot co...

A question about leather.
I figured this would be as good a time as any for a few questions. For those who make leather whips, a quick question. About how thick, firm, and stretchy of a piece of leather would you recomend to a guy starting out. I have been looking at cow hide. I can get a pretty good sized hide for cheap, an...

Thank you guys, it means a lot to me. I am trying to scape together some coinage for a big roll of para-cord, and I have been playing with some leather scrap I have laying around to practice for the real thing. OK, I think it's about time to get some pictures loaded of my new hobby. I would like to thank everyone that has helped me in this project, and now my addiction. Hopefully I can get the pictures uploaded. The first picture is of both of the whips. The top one is my first attempt. I have refered to a...

No, if you want ugly you should see the poly-cord snake whip I finnished a few weeks ago. It was my first whip and was going to be a 6 footer and ended up being 3 foot with the only taper in the last 9 inches. It has a little crack when thrown, and has no knots. I learned a lot with that whip. Now I...

Hey, quick question. About how big of a final diameter should I shoot for in a para-cord whip? I'm working on a bull whip like Cracker's but I think I made the handle a little thin. I have an 8 plait down to 4 plait with a little bit of the last single cord sticking out. I now have a 10 plait overla...

Well I finished my first poly cord snake whip. I can say without a doubt that this was a learning experience. Turns out that I had the taper all wrong, and when I was finished, insted of having a 6foot snake, I had a 3foot snake with the last foot as the taper. I did not give up. I finnished and ins...

Awesome, Thank you for the pics. I have a snake whip I'm working on out of poly cord, it seems to be working but I don't think my shot core is enough weight. The next I'll be using para cord, the poly cord I have does not lay flat. I am trying to decide on a another snake or start in on a bull whip....
