I've been working on an 8 foot para cord whip the last week or so. This will be whip number three. This one is a three shot loaded cores, 8 plait belly 1/3 of the way down, 12 plait 2/3 of the way down, and 16 plait overlay. in comparison whip the last whil this thing is huge. The handle is right at about an inch thick. Finding time to work on this beast has been a problem. I had a break last weekend. It was raining, and I was sick as a dog, so I got the second belly plaited while I watched a few movies (six hours in total).
The 16 plait is giving me fits. I had to find the room to lay the cord for cutting. It is an 8 footer but I made the cord extra long just in case. I started plaiting the handle with a chess board and as I was plaiting I realized I had cut one cord too many, but I thought I had tied both ends of one of the cords.
Back to my title... I am a huge Detroit Red Wings fan. I love hockey, but I can't just sit a watch a game without feeling lazy. So I grabbed whip, got in the biggest room in house with a TV, and just jumped into it. The comentators are good enough that I only had to look up when I heard GOAL. I plaited the handle, 16 plait chess board half way down then double diamonds to the transition, during game three of the Red Wings / Avalanche Stanley Cup playoffs. Last night, during game four, I got the transition and the next 12 inches plaited, I stopped right before the first drop 16-14. I was too sleepy to try the drop. So I will wait for the next game. Wings won 8-2, and move up to the next round. So it looks like I have something to watch when I finnish this monster. GO WINGS.
