I just checked on the J Crew Red Wing Rugged classic boots and the price has increased to $225.00!! What the heck is that about? Are they prepping for the latest Indy adventure as well? For that price, just put some dough with it and go for the real thing.

I just got off the phone with a fellow at Red Wing and he said that the style being sold by J Crew would also be offered through Red Wing distributors in the fall. You won't find anything on their site about them yet. He said they would be called "Classic". I wonder if they'll still be on ...

Just a small bit of advice if you'd don't mind taking a chance. Wait till the fall season stuff goes out and you can pick up the boots at a substantially cheaper price-maybe half off. Does Red Wing offer these same boots direct from them?

J crew has the new fall catalog out and of course they have some fantastic looking boots available-you can even choose from 2 colors. So which is the best? They are Red Wings, but still, a bit pricey. If you're going to spend $200, why not spring for Aldens? I'll be waiting for the end of season sal...

Has there been any new development on the Carolina Boots talk of producing the Alden lookalike? I haven't heard anything for a a long while now. I'd really like to pick up a pair, but I'm tired of waiting.

My jacket is goat skin. I'd post a photo, but I don't know how to do it. My jacket is dark brown and not broken in at all, but I really enjoy wearing it, though I won't have much more time before the weather gets nice here in the Carolinas.

I think the Hydrator looks a little closer than the Traffic because the bottoms are black. I almost got a pair of the Traffic but the white bottoms bothered me. Not bad looking shoes though. I'm now wearing some just a little too big J Crews!
