Re: How to make a hat fit a little tighter
I know that everyone talks about foam, but I have always used... KLEENEX! Folded longways, with the number of folds determined by the thickness you desire. Put one in the front, one in the back, one on each side... Whatever the discrepancy requires. If the sweatband shrinks, which has happened with ...

Truly, it is jet black. I purchased it to wear with a black overcoat, and a charcoal duffel coat. It is, with those and other dark clothing, simply magnificent!!!

That hat is beautiful. It has a very 30's feel to it. Can you post some pic the hat being worn? Hats always look better being worn.

My AB in Black
If you don't mind the wait, Fedora can do an Adventurebilt in black for you with an LC/KotCS bash.
Mine:
Given the current exchange rate, that would put it in your ballpark (even paying full fare).

I suppose it depends...
Some hats I leave the Hat Jack in when I'm not wearing them. Others, well- not. It depends on how much stretch is required. I have an AB in black (look to the left!) that was just slightly too small. I wear it often enough that I don't find it necessary to leave the stretcher in place. Other hats, t...

The style I have is made of plastic- the wooden ones that I found were all tapered. Cost around $20.00 at the local western supply store. Currently I have it working on my new AB, which is slightly too small. I have used them in the past on all variety of hats, from vintage (a Stetson Stratoliner th...

My AB Deluxe Aviator
I posted this at TFL months ago, and don't know why I didn't post it over here. So... this is my AB Deluxe. And it is, in every possible way. The felt is beautiful, buttery, luxurious. The craftsmanship is remarkable. And the hat is best summed up by what a friend said: "That hat is BadA$$!&quo...

I know that on their website they claim to have provided hats for ToD, and that has been much discussed here (do a search on this site for Baron's). I ordered a Baron's Cliffhanger shortly before finding this site. Since then I have acquired an AB and ABD. In comparison, the felt is somewhat thinner...

Sorry, Steve
Wasn't meaning to "bust your chops." My point was more that I don't intend to get the hat and immediately begin deconstructing it. If you see previous posts in the thread by me, my point has been that we should all relax, be patient, and let you do your thing, in your own time. That way we...

I ordered September 16, and I'm still waiting. Fear not- likely it is too hot to wear it where you live by now anyway. Any amount of time you get it before the fall will be even more painful, because it will mean you can look but not wear (in Las Vegas, with the temps in the 110's over the summer, t...

I admit it: I am embarrassed at how much I have spent on hats. I have always loved hats, and for the past 10+ years (my "earning years") I have spent my time mostly in Western Hats: O'Farrell "Cowboy Collection", $275 O'Farrell "Outback", $475 Resistol "Black Gold&...

AB Deluxe Aviator
I just got this in the mail, fresh from Marc. I have several hats, including a vintage 80's Stetson Indy, , but nothing compares to this absolute GEM. The felt is a deep, rich, vibrant brown; the style, while not "Indy", is sensational; and the fit... like a glove. Wore it all weeke...

Indiana Jones Stetson
I actually possess an Indiana Jones Stetson. It was purchased for me as a Christmas gift by my then girlfriend (now wife). At the time I think she paid something like $60 for the hat. It is fur felt of some sort, brown with a somewhat lighter brown ribbon, and it is in fact tapered. Hey Steve- if I ...
