2 pair of AB Aldens - Pics used vs new

A member here pm'd me asking for some pics of my worn AB Aldens. I decided to do him one better and take pics with them along with my unworn pair for comparison. Both boots are from Marc. I bought the first (now used) pair right after he made the announcement that he was selling Aldens. I bought the...

Re: Alden fit issue - Can I stretch it somehow?

I'm a little worried about a cobbler messing up the shoes because they're kinda pricey. But, hey... that's why I have another pair. Thanks for the advice. I was leaning that direction, but it always helps to get a little push. I appreciate it!

Alden fit issue - Can I stretch it somehow?

Hi, I have 2 pair of AB Aldens... which are awesome. One pair I try to wear, the other stay in the box. Only one problem... The right boot is slightly tight in the outer front of the foot. My right foot is the dominant one and only slightly bigger than the left. With other shoes, I've never had any ...

Lol! Exactly MY point. When they showed me two different ways of building the duel-entry patch pockets, my eyes glazed over. I never checked the original. I measured outer dimensions. Drew the curve. Sketched the overlap of the top flap to the undying patch. But the internal construction? Over my h...

Fair enough. Like I said - I get it second hand and I barely listen anyway, so I probably butcher that. I give FAG more press than it deserves from here. Re: Questions about the G&B Expedition and its history

Nope. Everything from Wested came with d-rings. Peter confirmed this to me on a call in September of 2007. I've asked about this tri-bar? Ian's response was it would have been essentially the same as the slider and they may have used both interchangeably. I've seen screen grabs where that bar is qu...

Ian Higgenbotham reported that the costume crew replaced the d-rings with sliders on screen-used jackets. The d-rings didn't work on the thin leather once they were aged/distressed. Pretty sure that's in the write-up? He also has a plethora of stuff on the progeny of zippers and linings. Ian's a ge...
