The truth is goatskin are stronger than horsehide and would outlast horsehide weather it is worn or not. I DID NOT say horsehide will not survive after 65 years, YOU DID! Then you went off on one about fictitious account of WW2 and how these jackets been through everyday of abuse. Then you follow up...

I am a member of the VJF myself, so I know what you are saying. I am not disagreeing with you. You pretty much agree with what I said when you said this: Most of the wear and tear you see in WW2 era leather flight jackets are credited to postwar period either worn by veterans who found themselves w...

Actually I put my money on goatskin outlasting horsehide and cowhide in normal wear Tell that to the thousands of WWII A-2 jackets that have survived for over 65 years now. They were made of horsehide, and most of them were worn everyday for years during the war, and they were used in alot more tha...

I believe my Wested horsehide will outlast a TN jacket. My 'ol Wested HH is, to me, the finest and toughest leather jacket I have ever seen....if I had to be dragged by a truck, nothing but a HH will do. :D Actually I put my money on goatskin outlasting horsehide and cowhide in normal wear however ...

The myth of location as the reason for Nowak getting the job is one that will be talked about here for years to come but it is not true. Tony got the job because of the quality of his jackets. Movie props are not valued for its quality but for its pliability and availability. A strong and structuri...

To a fan $5000 is nothing for an iconic piece. Did they took any picture of Harrison Ford wearing it? I know what it is like owning something that has a celebrity/historical connection because sometimes it just sit there doing nothing. I have Danica Patrick's nose cone that flew off her car when she...

On my second time seeing the movie I was watching for the elusive scalloped pocket. In the scene where he and Mutt are walking through the streets in the market place there is that famous shot that is floated as evidence of the scalloped pocket. As you watch Indy walk you see a view in the same sho...

And yes, I know, the Nowak isn't HH. As cowhide it still looks like the real deal. I think your reservations are more to do with your love of the first film than the real world. And why not? That Raiders jacket still look the most convincing of all the Indy films. The lambskin while not the most durable or period authentic did lend itself to be easier to distress by the wardrobe people and it was closer to how an old battered horsehide would have looked like. Many WW2 A2 jackets are dy...

Thankyou Peter, You have as much if not more claim to the maker of CS as those whose gears eventually made it to the cinema. So they were copied from your design so they can make more on location because they wont film elsewhere outise the US it gone to a local manfacturer to do the copying. I am ge...

From what I understand Indy's costume apart from minor alteration in TOD and LC it did not gone through any radical changes so in that alone Nadoolman's original design was still being used plus the sourcing of the costume generally remains the same and it was even been said some of Indy's outfit fr...

[/quote] Yeah and maybe that would be a foot in the door for Fedora's hats to be used in IJ4. However, since Nadoolman didn't work on Temple or Last Crusade, what are the chances she might get to be involved with Indy4? Of course, I think it'd be awesome if she were involved. But hey, what do I know...

I still believe Nadoolman visited Savile Row and probably bought a HJ off the shelf from a retailer who stock them, bashed it up and trimmed it and let Harrison tried it on. In the film they need many similar hats and it was probably left to her assistance to get more HJ hats that only HJ store can ...
