I got my Alden for 7 month and see this problem 1 month ago. In fact it look like a deep scratch in the side of the sole. I don't think it's the entire boot. It seems that the sole is fissured and the seam start being torn. I put some extra glu in the fault but does it works ?

"Cuir gras ou cuir lisse" ! I had the same problem as you for my alden : which leather it was ?

You have some special waxing for this kind of leather (oiled leather ) ! To tint or dye them should not be a problem :wink:

It seems that there are two type of leather in shoe manufacturing: greasy leather and smooth leather. (cuir lisse et cuir gras in french) :-k

And you have different polish according to the leather.

What about alden boots ? Have you ever heard about this subtility ? :?:

Reconsidering my point of view with Shawnkara and Erri's comments, i made some adjustment as screen acurate as i can (for the lenght), following what Shawnkara said : Indy wore his bag level to the waistband of his pants". And Erri And it's not comfortable to walk a lot with a too long bagstrap...

ok i admit too : I have a seam out at the top of the heel : The leather is torn between two points. But it's very very very minimal, not visible except by the eye of the buyer ! :) By the way, the laces are very bad : too long and not strong ! :evil: But i say : it's the most confortable shoe i wear...

Taxe was due for the TVA in France : I had to pay my government because i bought something out of France ! :shock: I think it's available above a certain price.

So Erri if you have an Alden retailer in italy (land of shoes), i suggest you calling them... if you want some 405 of course. :wink:

as k suggested, i'm gonna get my local leather shop to cut a longer strap.

Louis de funes had heart condition and died in 1983 due to a crisis. Easy to believe when you saw the energy he burned during his films :roll:

First of all, i want to thank lost-ark (& Indiana Dudley ) for their rapidity and quality of the stuff ! even me who i'm not a manual guy succeed in attaching the bagstrap to my mark 6 :P I should have choose 72" for the lenght. I like wear my bag just over my knees and 65" is too shor...
