I think they are quite new because the seller told me (as i wrote before) that they were wore just once. And i can see from their mint conditions that it's true. About the colour i dont know, your eyes might betray you because i lightened them with a yellow lamp light. I would wait sun pics to guess the age of them.

... ow and NO i'm not going to to distress them LOL sorry [-X Time will distress them by itself

Nice boots! I will seriously advice You NOT to distress them. They look better and better for each day by natural distressing and all the boots I've seen having been distressed looks just like that - distressed. When they get naturally distressed You can consider using brown toned shoepolish (look for advice in this forum) and then give them some of the screenaccurate look with time.
Just my opinion :D

Cheers

Aldens are the one item of gear I have not had to distress as they distress very quickly naturally (well at least in my life). I would actually say if you want to keep them in good condition/brand new looking then dont wear them very often.

Last Sunday I put my "new" Aldens (probably just under 6 months old) through their biggest test since filming (which I should say was a work out for them) - went hiking in the mountains in Scotland. It was a miserbale day with heavy rain (but great fun) - anyway the Aldens are not waterproof and were totally soaked through, but otherwise they held up beautifully. Didn't get a single blister and they held together perfectly through quite rough conditions.

Only thing I will say is I dont recommend any scrambling or climbing in them without getting them resoled especially in the wet - quite a dangerous thing to do 8-[

Nice looking boot. Wish I could afford some.

I was rather shocked how much it looked like my Redwings (100 Yr. Classics) from that angle. Just my mocktoe "rib" is raised and not flat and one piece like on the Aldens.

13D my friend. They are a bit bigger than my foot but it's quite ok. I thought i had 13 but i just made a sizing mistake. I might think to sell them for the same price i bought them and buy a perfect size pair. That's just a thought by now. ANyway if anyone interested just drop me a PM, for european guys would be better so you wont have to pay taxes.

Well we are talking severe weather here where everythign you were is pretty much soaked - walking through bogs, etc. They are fine in a general shower - besides where you live you probably never get rain ;)

  never is a big word

Florence is a quite wet city, of course the ammount of rain per year is MUCH less than in Scotland but autumn and spring here are pretty rainy seasons. I'll be careful with my shoes ;)

I just watched this link on Alden website

http://www.alden-of-carmel.com/Catalog/ ... itting.htm

and discovered that i bought a much larger size than my feet size!!!

I think i'll sell them to anyone interested for the same price and buy my size... as soon as my wallet allow it or if anyone would post a nice pair of my size in Classifieds

That's a real shame, they are absolutely beautiful.

Well my anyone interested just drop me a PM, i will put soon an advert in Classifieds. Size 13D.

PS i still wonder what conversion table i read #########!

Well wear them a bit and walk around in them and then make a decision on how they feel rather than the Alden size chart

Well they feel great. I just have ... a bit of space on the front and, well they look a bit big. For all the rest is quite ok.

It's just better not to drive the car with large shoes
