Yow.

Wow. Just checked out that link you posted.

Glad I missed that topic. I'm just gonna leave that one alone.

Just as a practical weapon, the bullwhip is a highly underrated device. If you've ever had to fight against one of these things, you know that just about the only strategy is "stay the righteous h*** away from it." It only takes one hit to realize why. I knew a fella who used to deliver pi...

Been out of the loop for a little while. Checked on the US Wings site, and saw no trace of these jackets any longer. Did I miss my chance at scoring one of these (not as though I had the bread at the time or anything, but that's a technicality). Anyone have any info to share on this one?

That is indeed groovy. Many moons ago now, when I first gave this project consideration, the Texas-based company that I contacted in order to line the old US Wings black cow with grade II needed a few of my personal measurements, and I quickly got a lesson in how this sort of thing needs to work. IJ...

I think, given the option, I'd pack along a Sig P220 (.45) as a primary weapon, since I'm comfortable with it and pretty proficient. The 1911 is good for nostalgic value, but unless it's been accurized, I've heard they're about as accurate as a pitched baseball. There is still no better bullet for p...

Aside from the black cowhide US Wings jacket, my other jacket is an old, world-weary competition-thick motorcycle jacket. Black, of course--classic style, no frills, just a dear friend that I've had since junior high.

Doesn't look so bad with a fedora, either.

Let's be careful out there.

Yeah, good shirt.

Mine is about nine months old, and has been hit pretty hard from wear and tear, and has been dyed (and subsequently re-dyed a few times) black, but it's still one of a few things you can pretty much count on me wearing when I'm out and about. Heh, this may help to illustrate what I dork I am, but I ...

Howdy, ITG. Practicality and a military kid's paycheck have kept that project on indefinate hold. A member of COW, a police officer (lord, the memory is getting dim--I can't even remember his name anymore; one too many fists, rocks and logs to the head, I guess) pointed me in the direction of a new ...

Just two cents, and not looking for change.

Saw this and had to add a little. The black cow US Wings Indy jacket, which was/is advertised as a "motorcycle" jacket, will be hash after most any accident, almost regardless of how minor. Personally, I feel it's a crime to advertise anything as a motorcycle jacket that is not at LEAST co...

L.L. Bean get a new hue.

Taking a cue from Mr. Michaelson, this kid ordered the L.L. Bean cotton poplin field shirt with the intent to dye the fabric black (might as well--Indy-ish colors were sold out, anyway. Light blue was all they had). So, parked in front of the community area tube with "Ghostbusters" and &qu...

Somebody's got to say it.

Bottom line up front; I don't like guns. But when it comes time to cast the vote for what I'd take into a Nepalese bar with me (or perhaps the Waffle House after midnight  ) in order to save the girl and take out the trash, give me the Colt .45. It may not be the sharpest looking handgun ou...
