In regards to tapered sleeves... I ordered my jacket from Wested over the phone. When I was talking to Jerry, I asked about the tapered sleeves. He responded that they already ARE tapered. He said that I could ask for them to be tapered more, but that I might run the risk of them being too snug (I h...

I originally got pointed to baking soda as a way to get the smell out of my old Birkenstocks. (Dump baking soda all over them, and pop them in the freezer overnight. Works well.)

I've never heard of using coffee grounds... How does that work?

Just to let you know... I WAS able to get in on the record-breaking speed from Wested.

I ordered my jacket on January 24th, it arrived here in Iowa EXACTLY two weeks later!!!! \:D/ I was (and still am) ecstatic. It was everything I'd hoped for. Now that COW is back, pics to follow!

The 8146 is on the Red Wings Europe page (a search there will turn it up).

I would say that the 8249 is even closer to the Alden, but I haven't been able to find it at Red Wing's or their other brands. May I also say that they have a really annoying website? Who doesn't sell their stuff online?!?

Press studs... useful?

A quick question regarding the press studs on the storm flap (hidden or otherwise). I'm aware of what they are for, but I just want to know... With the jacket zipped, does the storm flap stay covering the zipper without the press studs (either snaps unbuttoned or not there altogether)? Any other com...

So, now that you own both an authentic and a dark brown jacket... any comments regarding the color (authentic versus dark)?

I'm still wrangling with the decision of which way to go. I've requested samples from Wested, but am interested in an opinion on a recently received dark brown goat.
