Keep Steve's (Fedora) family in your prayers
Fedora sent me a PM, telling me that yesterday his father-in-law passed away. He will be out of pocket for a bit, so please keep him, his wife and family in your thoughts and prayers at this time. Regards. Michaelson

Please allow me to offer my condolences. Losing a family member is never easy and the holidays can heighten the sense of loss. Perhaps knowing that there are so many people here, who wish you the best and wish that they could somehow lessen the pain for you, could somehow dilute the pain you must surely feel.
I wish you, your family and friends, the best through this trying time.

Steve, I am so sorry to hear about this. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My wife's father passed away a year and a half ago from cancer. This will be the second Christmas without him around, so I can empathize with what you and your family may be going through. Let me know if I can do anything from here.

I am so sorry Steve. I lost my grandmother on December 24, 2003. She was more like a second mother to myself, my siblings and, amazingly, my kids. It still hurts to think about, and this is particularly poignant for me as we just had the unveiling of her memorial. I TRULY feel for you and your family. Remember, the happy times with your father-in-law will forever be in your memories. Please be well and know that we are all with you in spirit.

I clearly don't read the forum often enough.......Steve, my condolences to you, and all thoughts and prayers to you. I lost both my grandmothers 1 year apart, and both on the day before thanksgiving. I am here if you need to talk, cry, yell, or whatever, just remember I(and all of us here) hold you in our hearts as a friend, and will be here for you.

I'm not sure HOW much this will help... but even if it doesn't, please also accept my condolences, prayers, and wishes of the best.

Guys and gals, you don't know how much the kind words mean to me, and to my wife. I let her read all of these, and she shed another tear. We have been caregivers for her dad for the last 2 years, and even built on to our house in order to give him his own space downstairs. He was 89 years old. Thanks to all of you, and I will be back in the saddle Thursday. best regards, Fedora

Another voice of support.
Steve: Just to add another voice of support especially for your wife. My sincere prayers and condolences are with you both. Just wish we all lived in the same town to help out.

My favorite...
I did not die
Do not stand on my grave and weep
I am not there I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in the snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am a gentle Autumns rain
When you awaken in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
I am the birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
So do not stand on my grave and cry
I am not there.... I did not die

I just spoke to Steve on Saturday. I only called to talk for a couple of minutes about my pending hat order. We ended up talking the entire morning. For anyone that has never had the pleasure of meeting Steve in person or talking to him, he is truely a good guy.
While we talked, he told me how he had built an addition onto his house to be able to take care of his father in law. He said that his father in law had not been doing too well here lately, but I am sure this comes as a tremendous shock to Steve and his family.
Steve, I am very sorry to hear about this. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Again, thanks to all for the condolences and consideration. It is over now as the burial was today. I am back home and will be up working on hats for the preorders, and should start shipping these out in the next couple of days. If you have placed an order, you will get it by Christmas. I know you guys are anxious, but this was a kink that I had not planned for. Thanks all. Fedora

Steve, the hats can wait. Family is more important. These kinks in life are often unpredictable. Sure, I'm anxious for my hat (I'd be lying if I said I wasn't!) but I can wait until you're ready to get back into it. Just don't feel that you have to keep up with our pace. Just keep up with your family's at this point.
Regards,
bink
