I don't own a pair of officers pinks, but I would agree with that color assessment. The LL bean dark khaki does have a vintage pink hue to them in my opinion.

405s on the right. 403s in the middle. 40557h in the right.

I find that the 405 is not any stiffer than the 403s when broken in. I love the Chrome Excel leather of the 403, its soft, smooth, and holds up well. I would guess something like a Taurus Judge. Shoots .410 shotgun shells for snake killing (Very Important to Indy!) and .45 Long Colt shells for shooting other things. Versatile gun that would work for Dr. Jones!

So I have decide to sell these boots...

They are very nice and well made, but ultimately too small for my foot. The EU46 is just too short for my size 13 foot. I have been saving for a pair of Aldens, and will probably go that route.
