With heavy heart, we report the passing of Robert Watts who passed peacefully at his home in England. Beginning a career in the movie business in 1960, he’s probably best known for his work on various James Bond movies, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Star Wars. But we’re most grateful for his with the original Indiana Jones Trilogy.
I had the opportunity once to ask Mr. Watts which franchise he liked working on better, Star Wars or Indiana Jones. His reply: “Indy! Because it took place right f’n’ here! (as he emphatically pointed to the ground)”
Lucasfilm posted a touching tribute which can be found here.
