Hello everyone!
I'm going to be ordering Wested Leather's off the rack Last Crusade jacket in the Washed Lambskin.
Currently own two Gibson & Barnes Expedition jackets... a 46 & 48 regular.
I fit them both. The 46 is an exact fit and the 48 is a more roomy fit.
Any advice on sizing these days with Wested?
I remember back in the 90's the Wested's ran small.
Has that been anyone's recent experience?
I love the look of the washed lambskin.
Looks aside, is the washed lambskin really a heavier leather than the other Lambskins?
Just looking for some feedback from anyone's recent experience ordering from them.
Thank you for any advice you can give.
Much appreciated,
Joe

The measurements are up on the Wested site.
Best if you work out what your proper pit to pit (chest across under the armpits/jacket lying flat) measurement is as a start - you can measure an existing jacket that fits. Then compare to Wested's measurements table.
People tend to wear Indys over sized and sometimes extremely so. The pattern is a generous cut to be sure, but no need for it to look like a car coat.
The four Gibson and Barnes jackets I have owned were all a size or two larger than their tag size, so a 48 would be a size 50 equivalent. Westeds I have had tend to fit true to size - a 42 generally is around 23 inches pit to pit, Westeds are around that. My Gibson and Barnes 42 is 24.5 inches. Huge.
Remember today's sizes in coats (in malls and department stores) tend to be cut over sized to accommodate people being overweight. A 1940's size 42 would be a 38 today. Certainly that's what I've found dealing in vintage coats for over 30 years.

Everything said by CM.
Also, can't hurt to call or email the shop, give them your measurements, etc and have their suggestions.

Thank you guy's... I really appreciate your feedback!
Your responses have answered a lot of my questions.
Such a huge help!
I have read 100's of posts here on the forum and have learned so much.
My curiosity now has to do with current Wested Leather orders/purchases within the last year. Would really like to hear from more Indy Fans who recently ordered from them.
My upcoming order has been swayed a bit after hearing so many good things about The Last Crusade/KOTCS jacket in the Dark Novapelle.
I'm a fan of the darker color jackets. Screen accuracy is not too important for me in this order.
I'm looking more for the LC/KOTCS style with a darker quality leather that is built tough.
My two current 46 & 48 Gibson & Barnes Goat Skin Raiders jackets (48r Black, 46r Dark Brown) are tough as nails.
The 46 fits me snug and the 48 fits me loose. They both fit though.
I wear the 48 with a t shirt underneath or a sweatshirt.
The 46, t shirt only.
If my memory serves me correct, I believe I purchased both of the Gibson & Barnes in 2003.
I'm operating off of my smartphone. My picture files are too big of an upload to support, otherwise I would be more than happy to share with everyone pictures of my two jackets.

Re: Wested Off The Rack LC Order Advice In Washed Lamb
I can't recommend the washed lamb enough. I bought mine in November and am thoroughly enjoying this Raiders Hero. I would definitely recommend it for the LC jacket and I would order one myself if not for already having this one. So when the time comes for an LC for myself, I'll probably choose a different leather, maybe the dark novapelle.
But seriously, this is a great leather if you ask me. I think it's more robust and tougher than regular lamb. Not as dainty feeling. I'm starting to get some nice wear on it too, but at the same time it's holding up very well.
I would also say that it fits true to size, a 42 through and through.

Brand new in November

Nice! Be sure to post pics of the LC in Dark Novapelle. That jacket is on my shortlist.Sempre Avanti wrote:Marker2037,
