I picked up this holster a few years back and from time to time I'd apply some Pecards, set it in the sun an hope it would darken. Well, it never got to the point I wanted so I stripped the leather and re-dyed it.
The Orange-ish top right is it stripped right before the new stain was applied. The pic below that is as far as Pecards and sunlight did for me. The far left is the dyed version.
I used acetone to wear off the polish in areas of use and then soaked it in water. While wet I put my replica in and tried to mould it. Once dry I used pecards to finish it off. Thoughts? I'm only a beginner with this hobby Hopefully photos work
Ooda, I like that you wet-molded the holster, but not to the point where you can see every screw. A little molding to give the pistol imprint is good, but a shrink wrapped holster looks artificial to me.
