Aargh! This is partially my fault. I left my jacket on the bed, and my 4 yr. old daughter, which I call her the "Destructo" (she broke my PS3, damaged our car stereo, colored on our walls), put a sticker on my Todd's...
Off to the leather repair place. Unfortunately, they'll have to refinish the whole jacket. So, any natural distressing I've done the last couple of months will be gone. I'm crossing my fingers the color will be about the same when it comes back.
Has anyone ever had to have their jacket refinished?

Wouldn't it not match though? Does it take multiple applications to get it to the same color? Well, I should've consulted with you all first before getting this done out of desperation. Not pictured, but I found a small hole on the left shoulder blade...no idea how that happened. I'm having them look at that too.
It can be rubbed in and blended with the distressing. It's been done before.
Ah well, stay the course. You'll be starting with a clean slate and you'll get the hole repaired too but hopefully all the work won't be equal to the price of just replacing said jacket.
The cost was reasonable, nowhere near the cost of a new jacket ($50ish USD). If it ended up being the cost of a new jacket, then I would've pulled the trigger and get another brand (Wested, Bill Kelso, etc.), but thankfully a second jacket will happen another day.
I'll post a pic post-refinishing and hope it looks good!

Yes, it did peel the color off. I don't know how long it was on, but it was on for at least a few hours. My daughter loves to push stickers in on a surface to make sure it stays there too.

on a different "sort of" topic...Did the jacket do this because TODDS jackets are cheap? OR would this happen to any jacket?? Just wondering..
Depends on how a jackets leather color is applied. If it's spray colored, I can see how that would happen, as one that was tank dyed would be clear through the hide and would not have that happen.
Sorry for the delay, but finally got my jacket back the other day. It was refinished, and a small tear in the back yoke (not shown) was also repaired for me. Time to re-distress it naturally...
Based on this one photo, looks like they did a GREAT job! Put some Pecards on that puppy and get it back out there in the real world for some regular wear!

'Yes' to both products. There's just enough 'tint' in the brown to help, but it's not really required in your case. so that's your call.
Personally I use the leather 'creme' rather than the regular dressing, as it goes into the leather faster and is not as tacky as standard Pecards....but that's just my preference.
Of the two regular dressings, either one will be fine. I've used both with complete satisfaction.
Thanks, guys! I'll look into the Pecard creme dressing and make my decision. An easier application vs. the regular Pecards makes me interested in this one.

Edit: @Michaelson--I went with the regular Pecards. For some reason, I couldn't find the creme, even at the Pecard site.
FYI, I tried to order the cream on Pecard's site directly, but their site was having issues. Talked to their marketing rep and ordered it over the phone instead. They should get the site to work properly on orders soon.
