Best cavalry twill pants?

Post by indyexpat »

Considering Todd volumes are in decline, any thoughts on best cut/style pants still available in authentic fabric?

The only accurate options out there are Wested or Magnoliclothiers

WPG has some as well but there not as good nor are they accurate fabric from what I hear.

A lot of people buy LL Bean which look the part, just aren't the right fabric, typical khaki fabric.

Personally, I'd find some of Todd's that he has left and if they're not too far off, have them altered by a local seamstress if you can. Best option I'd say.

I vote for Magnoli because he makes the best Indy pants I've ever seen, besides Noel Howard. I ordered two pairs from him earlier this year, and they're absolutely perfect!

The Wested pants are made of the correct 100% cavalry twill fabric as the original Noel Howard pants, but some of the details are inaccurate, such as the tapering legs, sewn-on waistband, and wrong belt loop placement. The price is very good for such excellent quality, and they are a suitable option for Indy pants at a fraction of Magnoli's price. However, Wested pants come with unfinished legs which will require a visit to your local tailor for proper measuring and fitting, whereas Magnoli pants are bespoke, made to your exact specs, ready-to-wear out of the box. So, it all comes down to your budget, what you are willing to spend, and how quickly you need the pants. But it's always good to have options! :TOH:

Here are the Wested pants:
