I got up out of bed this morning, went down stairs and got on line while I finished the rest of my morning routine. Make coffee, visit John Porcelain…

As I’m coming out of the bathroom, my wife has her hands behind her back. She’s got this huge smile on her face and she says… “I want to give you an early Christmas Present!”

I’m thinking… great, my breath stinks… she’s either giving me a new tooth bush, some tooth paste or some mouthwash. I don’t have ANY idea why she would be making a big deal about this now.

Tears started rolling down her eyes and she showed me “The Stick”… She could hardly get the words out: “We’re pregnant again!”

First thing to go through my head… we’re going to need more fedoras… and a bigger car. Then I looked at my little man… he’s going to be a big brother! How did that happen?

For all of you who are expecting your first, it's the most awesome thing in the world to see your first baby for the first time... and hearing that the second is on the way... just as thrilling!

Ren: What fantastic news :D . Without waxing too sentimental, there is nothing as wonderful as children! The Lord's blessing on your wife and and family!

PS...even if its a girl you're going to need more Akubras, My two boys and my 2 year old girl want one for Christmas  .

Warm Regards

That's great news, RK! Give Carol my best too as I know she'll be carrying quite the load in the next few months. So if it's a boy are you naming it after the dog and if it's a girl are you naming her Marion? Lil' Coppertop is gonna have a little Energizer Bunny to bounce around with. I'm sure he'll make a great big bro!

Congratulations Ren!

My wife and I are expecting our third baby in around 2 weeks from now. My 2 kids are really excited about the new arrival, as I'm sure Coppertop will be when the time comes to have that 'little chat'...

Ah, a whole new generation of gearheads -

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone :D

I'm surprised that after seeing my two rugrats tearing around your place yesterday you are excited about this :D . All kidding aside, I wish this anouncement had come one day earlier so I could have congratulated you in person. There is nothing I would trade for the experience of having kids. They are great, and let me tell you, it's a whole new ballgame with two of them.

P.S. I think Coppertop is awesome! I love that hair!

RK,

Congrats! Not sure there's anything else I can say that hasn't already been said much better than I could say it.

Are we going to do a Baby Pool on COW, to raise money for a new Fed Deluxe for the wee one?

$5 a chance...gotta guess the sex, the date, and the weight. Closest guess wins half the pot, the other half goes to Hats Direct for the Akubra!!

Best (and Congrats again),

Renderking Fisk, I would just like to say CONGRATULATIONS.

I could hardly believe it when I read it. This is absolutely wonderful! I am very excited for the both of you. It's gonna be fantastic for Coppertop as well to have a new baby brother/sister. :P

Congrats RK. Yeah, KJ and ITG, it was the world famous Fettucini Alfredo that RK mentioned a long time ago. Someone has to find that thread. It was a "hall of fame" comment. Cheers guys.

I seem to remember another announcement regarding a baby about this time 2000 years ago (ok, the exact time of the year is debatable) and the light and hope He brought to a dark and hopeless world. May your little one on the way and Coppertop both reflect that light and hope to everyone they come in contact with throughout the course of their lives.

Congrats, man. Consider yourself very lucky.

Hearing this always made me laugh.
She could hardly get the words out: “We’re pregnant again!”
I certainly can't get pregnant. I do understand the meaning behind it but I always thought it was kind of a funny expression.
It's more like, "You're pregnant, but I got your back". :D
