If you don't mind close enoughs, Wrangler makes a good pair of taupe/gray pleated chinos at Wal-Mart. I have a pair of these as ce's:

The Wranglers don't have pocket flaps, but some members have had success buying an extra long pair and using material from the cuff to have flaps made for the back pockets.

If you want a close enough with the pocket flaps and the slanted front pockets, the best I have found are LL Bean Dress Chinos, pleated front, hidden comfort waistband, in the dark Khaki or taupe color.

I've worn them for years for gear and everyday life.

I have a closet full too, in a variety of colours. These pants will last forever. My only difference is mine are not the 'hidden-comfort' style, otherwise, same thing. Great pants for the price and the do wear great! W>

I´d grab these,just for the flaps on pockets, don´t care about pleats..on the front.

I was just looking at these options, myself. Personally I'm more likely to wear the flat-front version as everyday pants. There's something about pleats that just make me look funny...

I guess it all depends on now "close enough" you want to get. The vast majority of the public would be just fine seeing an Indy costume with good ol' normal khaki pants, no matter pocket flaps or pleats. So you can do that.

If you want to step up, then go with the LL Beans which do have the flaps.

In the end, you can purchase the Todd's or Westeds for the accurate pants, but I say don't sweat it. Just get what you can afford right now and you'll look just fine.

I love pleats on my trousers, btw. I don't like the plain front. Too... well, plain!!

Indiana Jones wore trousers with flaps over the pockets,that´s something I look for in khakis,chinos or dress-pants. :whip: Those are amazingly hard to find,actually! :shock: :o Pleats,as said,make me look funny... :lol:

Those LL Beans look nice, but you know, at $69, you're really starting to get close to Todd's price. Just save the extra $15 and get the accurate pants...

Has anyone purchased the Wrangler pants from Walmart? My local store doesn't have any in stock, so I'm thinking of ordering a pair in brown since the khaki is too light. I just want to see how the color really looks before I place an order.

The photo online is representative. The color is taupe/gray and is its strong suit, as is the fit and price.

Nice finds upon there. :tup:
Also check out german police trousers. They also have the flap over the pockets. But I don't know if all of them have it.

Looks like LL Bean has discontinued the taupe color? ( couldn't find it on their website :? ) Dark khaki is the closest they offer at the moment.

They still sell them in the stores.

You can also find theme here, in Sable:

http://www.wrangler.com/store/WRG_STORE ... ryId=17673" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also here, but the color looks 'off' in the photo:

http://www.amazon.com/Wrangler-Riata-Pl ... haki+pants" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'd recommend the store first, because they are less than $20. These days they even have a comfort waistband.

all good info - but what about color? Whenever I see Costumers standing next to each other - ya'll have different color pants - but even when I look at ref photos of Indy - his pants look Kahki on film, but whenever I see the pants on a mannequin on tour, they almost look like a darker clay? Is that from a different movie?

Not every costumer has the same brand. Some have Wested, some have Magnoli, some have Todd's and some have ce's. As for Indy's pants on screen vs on tour... Lighting
