You did a good job on that jacket, McFly. Looks like it has been weathered in the Tanis sun. Can you give some story on the jacket? Based on a few details, looks like it could be an early to mid-2000's Wested.

Definitely a Wested and I do believe it is around mid-2000's.. Got it a year and a half ago from a RPF member (Can't remember who??), and pretty sure they had it for a fair few years.. I've sanded around edges a bit and given it a few smacks against the bricks.. Then I slapped it into the dirt in the construction site across the road to dust it up.. So it is the same color as the "Before" pic, just dusted up a fair bit..

As mentioned, going for a "Cairo" look, as I am eying the "Cairo" whip from Crease N Corral.. The Fedora is the "Cairo" version from Penman Hats.. Looking at maybe adding bit more dust to the Fedora too.. Then to work on the pants, belt and holster.. Though not sure if the holster is the right color for Raiders?? Need to track down a few items too, like shirt, canvas belt, double loop whip holder, boots and glove.. Slowly getting there, but hopefully not too much longer..

Thanx Michael.. I'm thinking of cleaning it up, so I can apply a conditioner on it first.. Then wondering if I should try wearing in shower?? Not sure about that though, will probably frak it up.. Worse thing is, not knowing exactly what type of jacket it is?? I know it's not lamb.. Pretty sure it's not goat.. I have a foggy memory that the seller I got it from years ago said it was horse.. Does that sound right?? Maybe it's cow, but pretty sure they said horse..

Also looking at using more scourer on it too, and then dust it back up.. Or maybe just leave it how it is??

Who manufactured the jacket? There are not many horse hide Indy jackets out there. Lamb and cow (in all their variations) and goat are far more common.

Hmm, well in that case it could be horse. Wested is one of the few makers that have dabbled in HH for Indy jackets.

:x Hey McFly! I thought I told you never to come in here...

;) :TOH: (Nice name!)

Hat looks good to me! In the movies, he probably had even MORE dust on it, so you're doing alright!

Thanx guys.. It's slowly getting there.. Still need to get the right pants and a Raiders shirt..

The belts etc, still need to get distressed.. I keep looking at them, thinking I'll do it, but then get a little scared that I'll frak up.. :lol: Need to dust up the Fedora more, as a lot of what was on it, has come off.. Need to pick up some Fuller's Earth soon..

Great job. You didn't mention shoes. I spotted a couple nice "older" pair of Aldens on eBay. Size 10 i think (which don't fit me). Not sure if posting this link is OK, but I'm sure someone will kill it if not:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-CLASSIC ... 48629caa2f" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

MOD EDIT: Since this is a dead auction, it's ok. The rule is against the listing of 'live' auctions that are not your own.

That's the really distressed pair. There was another a little better shape. They go with the look your working on.
