Offensive smells in leather

Post by Michaelson »

Questions regarding the remove of offensive odors in jackets pop up quite often in this section.

I stumbled across this website that has a few tips that I had never heard of, and may be of use should you have need of this information.

Not sure I agree with the linseed oil suggestion, but it's there for your consideration. :TOH:

Thanks for this link. I had had problems with leather jackets before.

I've heard of using a vinegar solution for odors. A friend washed her well used running clothes in a vinegar solution to get the 'gym smell' out. Well, it worked....her clothes didn't smell like sweat anymore, but they did smell like vinegar. Running with her was like running next to a jar of pickles! :-0

Amazing how other thoughts cross your mind when you read or re-read subject titles. :-k

The easiest answer to this question would be to just tell the smelly person to just take off the jacket and go away.........ah, the wanderings of the mind before their first full cup of coffee in the morning...... ;)
