I contacted Alden yesterday out of curiosity to see if there restoration program is available to international customers and apparently it is.
Here's the reply
"When your boots are ready for Restoration you may send them to us here at the factory to be Restored. The cost is $159.00 per pair, payable by either MasterCard or VISA. Turnaround time is approximately 8 weeks from when we receive them. You should contact us for current price before mailing, and we'll provide an address at that time."
I thought the $159.00 included US shipping both ways and was expecting a hefty surcharge for international shipping.
Anyone tried it?
Cheers

Re: Alden Restoration Program outside the US
Hi Zoltar,
As Brit living in Poland I am interersted in this service too. Do keep us all posted. I am sure there are others on this forum in Europe with a pair of Aldens who at some staqe will need to have these restored. I showed mine to a good cobbler when I was back in the UK. He said " Very well made boot, but I can't get these soles or the heal".
Best,
Indybrit

Re: Alden Restoration Program outside the US
Well, I just sent my boots off to Alden for the Restoration Service and they sent them back saying money would be better spent getting a new pair. These boots are, in my opinion, perfectly serviceable (I'm going to give them to a cobbler I know who will hopefully prove me right) so I really don't know what Alden's problem was. If the Restoration is just replacing the soles and giving a new set of laces, then they should call it a "resoling service". I hope you guys have better luck! Anyway... I should have some good before-and-after photos once I get my own cobbler to work on them. Stay tuned...
