Does anyone know what method Tony used on his jackets to distress them?

Re: TNO distressing
I'm pretty sure he would also distress the leather before stitching so the stitching was always perfect. Not sure how he did it though. I think IndianaG told him to throw his jacket on the floor and kick it around, literally.
Re: TNO distressing
When I visited him at his shop he told me to "beat the S*** out of it" and then just kinda smiled and changed the subject, so I didn't press the issue (figuring I'd just ask again another time. Sadly, he passed away before I had the chance to ask again.
The reason I'm asking is bc I'm really good at aging the jackets to look like the screen used ones, but I use sandpaper and the aging he did on my CS jacket looks like he used acetone or something because there are no "scuff" marks.
Just trying to figure out his secret.

Re: TNO distressing
The Wings CE version that came out was made out of the exact same hide as TN used, and had exactly the same appearance. I wonder if that's just the way it came from the tannery in the first place.

Yeah, I thought there had been long discussions on how the leather was 'pre-distressed' and that many members didn't like that on the CS jackets because it looked too uniform and not authentic aging (like the LC was
). My understanding was the 'pre-distressing' was done at the tannery and delivered to TNO/USW that way.

Re: TNO distressing
As I recall, you could order the CS pretty well distressed by Tony. I remember seeing some posting pictures of theirs with scratch marks on the sleeves. Mine is moderately distressed. It isn't just the way the leather came, but that leather does distress easily, though.
Re: TNO distressing
Ya I remember that now too. Tony said he could do heavy or mild. I got the mild on mine too, so as you said, the hide clearly didn't come that way

Re: TNO distressing
He told me that too, but I told him 'no thanks' (of course
).
The leather I received was still velvety in feel.....just like the Wings CE's were (I had one of them too), so that's what I base my statement above on.
I still believe they came from the tannery with that original slighly distressed finish as there was the Wings CE product with the exact same finish. Wings did nothing with their jackets to distress them. Tony then did his magic if you wanted your jacket more heavily distressed.
