Raiders Style Holster for S&W 1917 with 5-6" Barrel

Post by Wade Egan »

This is a Raiders style holster I made for a client who has a 1917 with a 5.5" barrel. This will fit most 5" and 6" barrel pistols with similar frames to the S&W HEII or Model 22 new classic.

Just a quick webcam shot:

I got this holster in the mail last week and it's gorgeous - superb workmanship. When I get the new grips on my pistol I'll put up a photo.

Thanks Wade!

Here are some quick photos of my new Wade Egan holster with my 1917, wearing its new pretty nice wooden grips. Nice wood grips are hard to find for these at a decent price - these came from a regular auction on Gunbroker that is going all the time. They came on the slow boat from China (literally) but were worth the wait.

That us a great photo. Nice looking holster, grips, and 1917! Where did you find the 1917 and how much was it if you don't mind telling?

Got it from my father who picked it up a few years back. There was a period where a lot of them were floating around in good shape for about $350 - this was about 10 - 15 years ago. He just wanted a solid "stick in the truck" pistol, and liked old Smith and Wessons.

Simpson Collector Arms has them all the time, if you're searching.

Bourbon country, huh? That's another hobby of mine - (I have about 150 bottles.)
