Indy Trousers from Todd's Costumes (With pictures)!

Post by Adventure Dog »

Okay, this is a little early, but considering that a few lucky members of our site have already ordered their pants (and hopefully will receive the right size), this is the thread to post your thoughts and pictures!

I will be ordering my own pair as soon as a 33/34 or 32/34 size are found. Anyone else eagerly awaiting news of their certain size?

Even though I don't hold a pair of these pants in my hand, I would like to thank Todd and his team for diligently working to create a pair of affordable and screen accurate pair of trousers. From what I've seen, they look marvelous and are at a VERY reasonable price for what they are worth. You are a magic man Todd, and my my hat is off to you.

Yes! I ordered 36x32 and they fit good! Waist is a snug 36 but it's not to tight. Length is a little longer than I think a 32 inseam is but by the time I put my Aldens on they are perfect. So my overall thoughs are this, waist a little snug but ok length is maybe a little longer than normal. I'm 6'3 205lbs.

I guess I'm gonna have to shorten mine up then. I got the 33 inseam and I do have short legs for my body, just an inch or so. My height is 6'-2''.

I'm 6'1", 210 lbs. with natural, muscular build. I normally buy 38x32 slacks and 505 levis, which fit me fine off the rack. Unfortunately I measured my waist and it is 39", but they did not have 39s at the time I ordered and I thought that that size would probably not exist.
So I ordered a pair of 38x33 on the first day and they arrived today!
I tried on the pants with a Indy close enough shirt, and sucking it in, I was able to wear them. With my Aldo Rodriguez boots the length is perfect, 1/2" or more above the rear heel!
I just went online and saw they now have 39x33 in stock and ordered a pair of those!

Anyone interested in a brand new pair of 38x33? If not I'll just have the waist let out.

I am still confused by the sizing. I am 6'0, 190lbs. I normally fit into 36/32 department store pants. I measured my actual waist and came up with 38. How should I order? 38 or 36? And the inseam runs long, so should I stick with a 32 or can I get a 33 and be ok?

If you waist is 38" then order 38". The pants are 38" in circumference. Big name brands put smaller size labels on their pants to boost your ego. The amount each brand "fudges" is inconsistent. With these, if it says 38" it in, in fact, 38" around.

I wish I had known that when I ordered. I think I may receive pants that are too small. It's my own fault I'm sure. I bet it says so on the sizing page on your site. Still....I may need to do an exchange....UNLESS you think that the pants will maintain their integrity after being let out by a tailor.

Yeah, it is under "Sizing" on the product page, but a lot of people miss it.

The pants can be easily let out about 2". One of the side benefits of screen accuracy - they were made by costumers who were concerned with alterability!

Well, I AM 25 lbs lighter now, so maybe 36 will work. I need to start reading the fine print.

You're close to my size. Definitely get the 38s. I wear a 32 length but they only had 33 and they are about 1/2 inch above my boots heal and look great. I actually think 32s would have been too short now.

Remember, the cuff is a military cuff - lower in the back. Dont' wear them too long or they will just look too long. Raiders pants were the right length for Harry. It's the lack of crease in the leg that makes them "bag" that certain way.

Hey, where are the pics? I want to see them ON you guys! It's one of the perks if this job!

Most commercial enterprise will be +|- by 1/4 inch or so in waist & inseam. That's how most companies are these days. I always take two pairs of 36x32 in the dressing room. So hopefully everyone will be ok with these pants.

It's extremely nice Todd has excessively measured all these pants for everyone.

At last!!! The PERFECT Raiders pants! Got mine yesterday..The color, drape, material, all absolutely spot on :D Alas, I guess I too was fooled all these years into thinking I had a 36 inch waist  They were just slightly snug in the waist so I sent them off to the tailor this morning ;) Also ordered another pair a size up as well. The tailor commented that they were 'old school' when she saw the military hem and was a little thrown it seemed :-k I thought I was happy with my Westeds...guess those will go to the back end of the rotation now! As I type this, I'm really missing them already! I'll post pics of whichever pair is here first, just wanted to chime in and thank Todd for his hard work and keen eye for detail. :notworthy:

They look great....
I'm just totally bummed about the sizes.
I'm 6'5" and I need 36 X 36
It says that there is no room to let out the hem on the site.
I'm just so disappointed about this.
I've been checkin here almost daily....

Got mine today. All I can say is (without screen shots in front of me) they are the most SA pair of pants I've ever seen. They blow MBA and Wested out of the water. If you're sitting on the fence about this I'd say get off your duff and get a pair. You won't regret it. ;)

And I say an extra kudos for Tom on the AWESOME scalloped pocket flaps. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

Ahhh....I was fence sitting on these, since money is tight...

Buuuuuuut....

Then you guys had to go post photos of the trousers and the click had to happen...

Just so you know, I'll be paying debts off for a year more now, and it's all YOUR fault! ;) ;) :rolling:

Hehe...Seriously though...Just ordered...The pants look stunning...Great stuff...Although I've been waiting for Magnoli to send me some I'd ordered in January, there are complications with the fabric dealers I think and it looks like a longer wait for those...So..A new pair of pants like this is SPOT on...

Will post photos when they arrive..

Regards to all, and thanks to Todd for making this happen so cheaply! :TOH: (Again)...

The photo above has them compared to the Wested's....

I'm sure others will help out with the comparison between the other brands...If not then when my Todd's arrive I'll shoot them with the Wested/Magnoli's at least.....

Even from that one photo you can see that they have less "pink" hue to them than the Westeds, and seem less brown..More grey, and I'd guess, very close to what Magnoli offers.. Lovely work.. :TOH:

Todd,

One question, why don't you simply size these to what people are used to? I am ready to drop the cash on a pair, but like your boots, I am now reluctant.

I normally wear a 36x32 and but have no means to measure my actual waist size. It's like your boots. I normally wear a size 13, but rumor has it your size 12 is actually a 13...but that has not been denied or confirmed.

I know I can always return your merchandise, but I am so busy and on a tight budget, that is just a hassle.

Todd, could you also wrap mine in a pretty little bow, and maybe hand deliver it to me at my door as well? Oh, and why don't you offer them in purple and green as well. And maybe you could also make them to fit plus size women, and maybe make a version for my cats?

Ok my size is in stock but I have a question on length.
You guys that have a pair already - do they wear on your waist (like dress pants) or more on your hips (like jeans).

This will help me (I'm long waisted) determine which inseam to get.

Thanks!

Not sure how you can't measure your waist. Find a pair of trousers that you like the fit, lay them flat on the floor and measure straight across, then double that number. Same on the "INSEAM"...find a pair of pants that break on the cuff how you like and measure from crotch to the bottom...you don't need a tailor, just a cheap tape measure.

Well, that's just it - I don't know what you're used to. Every brand fudges their sizes by a different amount. That's why you've got to take 5 pairs of 34s into the dressing room. Some will fit, some won't. You might want to cruise through the arts and crafts section in Walmart or Joanne's and drop a buck on a tape measure.

It's amazing how the false measuring system of the major brands works! (psychologically, I mean). It's so depressing to have to buy my real waist size!

Re: Indy Trousers from Todd's Costumes (With pictures)!

Post by indyclone »

i have had no problems buying the sizes from todd's , i have measured myself to get the most accurate sizing .some people seem unhappy about everything. [-( but take some time on your end . this is a new product and todd and his crew are doing the best with the time and products they have . patience is a virtue. :TOH:
