Cabela's Safari Shirts

Post by The Antiquarian »

I'm assuming that a large proportion of you guys may own the Cabela's safari shirt, or even a few. I had ordered my own over a week ago, and the other day I just received it. It's the 100% cotton version.

Here's mine, and it's in the lighter, stone color:

I think this shirt does capture the Indiana Jones look, even if it isn't completely screen accurate. It's good enough for me, and at 30 dollars, pretty much a bargain when compared to other types. I like this shirt a lot already, it's one of my favorites, so I'm hoping to eventually get around to purchasing the grasslands green color too, admittedly for a bit of that Roger Moore in The Man With the Golden Gun vibe. Yeah, I'm a Bond fan too. Not sure about getting into safari suits on the other hand.

Feel free to post up pictures of all the different shirt colors offered by Cabela's too, as I'd be curious to see them myself.

Looks good on you, Antiquarian.

I've gotten a lot of good use out of my Cabela's shirts on excavations in Israel and just general wear. Here's the Grasslands short sleeve while enjoying a hookah pipe in Old Akko, Israel:

Here's the tan shirt, also in Old Akko, Israel:

And here's my stone shirt. Any of the photos on here of me in full gear, I'm wearing the Cabela's stone shirt:

Look forward to seeing more photos. :)

I own a wide range of "close enough" shirts. LL Bean, Cabelas, Willis & Geiger, WPG, Banana Republic. For the money, and the wear-ability, the Cabela's 100% cotton are my favorites. They definitely capture the Indy vibe. Can't beat the quality or the price in my humble opinion.

Yep, they're Red Wings 953 model. Got them brand new a couple of years ago, and they've held up great for everyday and also for tromping around Israel. :TOH:
