Check out my screen accurate color corrected CS TNO Jacket!

Post by Stefan Hills »

Greetings Ladies and Gents,

I was not sure where to post this since it was a bit of show and tell, and color correcting, so Mods please feel to move this post to the correct location this not the place.

Just thought I would share a couple of pictures of my new CS TNO jacket. I have to say a big thank to Riley and company for an amzing jacket. The fit, and finish are all top notch. Riley, you are doing your step dad proud and it was great working with you.

I asked for medium distressing, and I colored corrected the jacket to match what is seen on screen, and I am very happy with the results. I wanted my Indy jacket to look like the initial promo shot of Indy in the graveyard, that dusty, medium, some what natural distressed look. After seeing a few jackets after Pecards treatments and after I did some tests on some leather samples, I was convinced that this was not the route I wanted to go to achieve the look I was after. I felt the gel or cream from Pecards does not give you much control of the color, it darkness the hide too much, giving it a wet, soaked look, and intially repairs most if not all the distressing.

So I decided I would use Kiwi Leather Lotion, which as the bottle states "...cleans, conditions and nourishes smooth leather. Helps prevent drying and cracking. Leaves a soft lustre."

And now on to the pictures, I would have taken some outside pictures but it has been raining here in VA.

Enjoy!

It looks GREAT. Nice work.

about the kiwi lotion. and someone correct me if I am wrong here but I have heard that you should be carefull with this lotion as it contains lanolin. great for the leather but bad for the sewing thread.

That is correct, but since the deed is already done, that train has already left the station. ;)

Last price I saw wander through here was around $900, so I'd say that's probably a good 'guesstimate'.

What was the last price you saw? :-k
