Just a thought: I was browsing through Alden shoes the other day and came across a pair in natural chrome excel. Is it just me, or is this leather a dead ringer for the CS Aldens?
Any chance production might have used this as Ford's custom Aldens for CS? The color certainly matches the leather jacket a whole lot better than the pumpkin/brick red Aldens that are the standard, and also would be alot easier than having to go through all the trouble of redying the boots...

Although the above boots look good, what I see on screen in Crystal Skull are just normal 405 boots that have been really, REALLY scuffed up.

The Aldens in CS were actually 405s that were PAINTED, as well as distressed

Yep, Aldens are not cheap, but anytime you depart from their regular catalog offerings, expect EXTREME sticker shock.

I paid 350.00 for mine. However I was on the Aldens site and they want high 4's. Crazy.

The REAL problem with all these variants of 405's now, is that I like nearly every one of them!
