Famous Stockwhip?

Post by darksideman13 »

Hey everyone. A while ago I was at a Hells Bells concert. If you dont know they are a tribute band to AC/DC. I was there with my friend. At the end of the concert they were throwing guitar picks and drum sticks into the audience. I was lucky enough to get one. I waited afterwards in hopes to catch the drummer and get his autograph. Patience paid off and I did. My friend was kinda upset about not getting anything. So the other day I was going to make myself a short snake whip when an idea hit me. Why not use the drumstick as a handle to a stockwhip and then give it to my friend. So after some toying around I made this.

To my suprise it cracks VERY well. This was the first stockwhip I have ever made. Its 3 and a half feet long and the drum stick is 16 inches long. Im kinda sad to see it go but I know he likes it. And thats my story.

This isnt mine but I have had too much trouble with my camera. This is basically exactly the same. I made the keeper the standard way and attached with some wax thread. I did the same thing on the thong. Im going to do transition knots over those two points when I get some time. Im also going to put a turks head on it...when i get some time.

Its actually a VERY light whip. The drumstick is super light and super strong. I might try to use them more often considering how easy they are to get and the fact that they are ready to use. Thanks for the complements guys!
