Best way to darken S+W grips

The correct N frame grips for the S+W Stembridge pistol are extremely hard to find, but I just got lucky and found a repro pair made exactly like the originals. They are not as dark as they could be. What kind of oil was used to darken grips of that period? ;)

dude- I can't answer your question, but where did you find the repro grips?!!

They are made by Keith Brown. Do an internet search and you'll find his site. He makes the best custom grips in the US. Scroll down a little further in the COW gun section and you'll see another similar thread I started where I got more feedback. There are PICS. As you'll see they are pretty spot on to the correct SA grips for the Stembridge. :TOH:
