In Raiders I always believed that Indy stayed no more than 24 to 36 hours in Nepal. In Mystery of the Blues I assumed that he was chased up into the mountains from a slightly lower, less snowy elevation.
If Indy is going to be spending any ammount of time in cold & snowy conditions, I alway figured he would wear some boots with more protection than what his Aldens could give him. What kind of boots do you think he would wear? He would need something with some more traction than a flat rubber sole. And they would need to be waterproof & tall enough to protect his lower pant legs & calves.
Thoughts? Ideas?

In the Sears catalog from 1936 Fall/winter issue there are some boots that look just like Aldens but taller and waterproof with a wool felt slide-in boot. I think that would have been Indy's choice. Besides, Sears said they were "farm proof" and that would have been plenty tough and plenty warm. i think the price was something like $9.

I like to think that while Indy was in cold weather, he depended on "Maine Hunting Shoes" from L.L. Bean. They were GREAT for the wet snow, still allowed for traction, and had a nice white fleece lining. So great, they still make 'em.

Exactly. Enter the Maine hunting shoes. You can even see the same wool fleece coming out of the top in the animated image presented above.
