Jake makes very high quality stuff. Looks like the first version of the holster I had before I got another one. I'm a SA buff and it turns out the REAL ONE didn't have edging on the strap or flap, so I got a more accurate one that you saw in your WG thread. Nonetheless , the holster you got is a fine looking piece of leather and I hope you get years of pleasure from it.

MAN that's a good looking piece of work! VERY functional as well!
One thing I've noticed in plugged flap holsters is the lack of the small drain hole you usually find in working holsters. If moisture gets trapped in a flap holster, the drain hole allows it to drain out. The plugged versions with no hole can allow for rust to start on a gun barrel.
That said, I REALLY like the look of this rig!
HIGH regards! Michaelson

Yep, Jake's the man with the holster plan!
Michael, your gear is all top notch. Now you just need to go get it dirty.
Great photos again, too.

Thanks for the compliments. I am really glad people are enjoying my work.
Michelson - As far as the drain hole goes - I do put it in the Raiders holster with the toe plug. I am still looking for an historic example of how the other non toe plug holsters should have a drain hole. Any photos of original gear with this feature would be greatly appreciated.

Jake, here are a couple of pictures of a U.S. 1912 .45 pistol holster from IMA. It looks like they put a small drain hole on the back side of the holster towards the bottom where the barrel ends.

Re: NEW! Crystal Skull style Webley Holster! Review (w/pics!)
I know that El Paso Saddlery does it as standard practice, and claim theirs is based on the 1860 flap holster pattern. My EPS 1860 custom flap holster has the hole. That always made sense to me, as the LAST thing you'd want moisture to build up in was a holster made for a black powder revolver, but then black powder absorbs moisture, so it also DIDN'T make sense to have a hole at the base plug that would allow moisture in. In a smokeless powder set up, we're back to it making sense again. Confusing, ain't it?
Anyway, back to THIS beautiful holster.....
Regards! Michaelson

Rick,
Thanks for posting the holster photos. We never stop learning things! I will have to put one in the next CS holster I make, as well as the round sewn end cowboy holsters that I make.

I love the outline of the gun! Michael, my Raiders holster will be started by Jake on Friday! I'm sure I'll go with him for MY Webley holster, once I find an elusive WG.

Re: NEW! Crystal Skull style Webley Holster! Review (w/pics!)
That Crystal Skull holster is so beautiful I want to pee in my pants. I've never much looked into the holster yet because accruing all the gear has been a very lengthy process for me. I mainly focused on the most recognizable staples of Indy's gear first. Now I'm onto the holster. One of my major concerns was that the holster would appear brand spanking new and not have what I have now learned is called the "wet-molded" look. That is just amazing. Are these custom made to order or something? Because I can't find the Indy holsters on Jake's site anywhere.
