My Federation Standard Reblock With my Own Block
Hello, this is my new hat that i made with my last block and my old Federation Standard. I make a little modification to my last hat block and i beleive that is the best Street of Cairo hat that i never made. This hat is not finish, i will make a little modification on this hat but i think the shape is very good. I take a time per day for work on my hats and for make the experience.
Look on the picture fifth and sixth, i like this detail but it's very hard to reproduce this detail.
Note: I don't sell this hat. I cannot speak about now but i beleive i have a good news for the Fans of SOC hat for this Automn.
Sorry for this short message, i would like to explain more the details but i have a difficulty with my english.
Thanks for your patient with me and my english, i appreciate this very much!

Re: My Federation Standard Reblock With my Own Block
WOW!
Great work as usual, Fedoraiders.
You sure do know how to "bend a hat to your will!"
I should let you know, however (I'm sure you probably didn't realize this) but there were recently some restrictions put into place (or clarified) in the Rules & Regulations on the subject of number of photos & links that can be posted in a single thread by the same individual. It says:
"You will not post more then six photos per thread (not per post). Not to exceed 640x480 pixels. You can also post up to six more links to photos as well. Again, per thread, not per post."
So, you should probably decide which links you'd like to keep and which ones you'll have to remove.
Sorry to tell you this, but I just thought I should let you know (it'll either be me telling you now or one of the Moderators shortly)...
I have more to say about that great looking hat, but not enough time to do it right now... I'll comment more later.
Again, BEAUTIFUL job on that hat!
Mitch

Re: My Federation Standard Reblock With my Own Block
If you were a con man you could put that on the bay and tell people it was on Ford's head and they'd eat it up, it's that close. That's is insanely detailed, and very well done, it might be one of the best looking SA hats i've seen a fan put together.

Re: My Federation Standard Reblock With my Own Block
Fedoraiders,
That is awesome attention to detail. I feel you and I have a "kinship" about this Cairo hat. You are approaching being put into the "3thoubucks camp".
The pictures you put circles on, the little "kick-over" the felt does at the base of the front pinch just before it meets the ribbon is the result of the "turn" in the hat. Since there is a longer surface length involved in putting the front right bash in, the "extra" material is forced to make the "pleat" near the center of the bash, right behind the ribbon. This causes the felt to pull away from the front pinch a little at the base of it near the ribbon. This trait can be seen many times on the "turned" hat.
Great cosmetics on the hat. You are really helping folks see how the Cairo can be made. I like the smudges on the brim top. I bet this hat, in person, looks 5 times "worse", than it does in pictures.
LLS

You ain't kidding there LLS. Outstanding job at replicating the SOC hat. The brim break going by the wayside is important in pulling off the complete SOC look, which you did really well. Best replication of the SOC hat, I have ever seen. FedoraYou are really helping folks see how the Cairo can be made.

Wow, that's GREAT!
Fedora AND LLS both chiming in on Fedoraiders hat (and with such nice praise!)... fellas, knowing how he looks up to you both I can safely say, you guys just made his weekend!
Glad you got those compliments, Jason... with all the time and effort you put into accomplishing such painstaking detail, you sure deserve it!
Cheers,
Fox

Is that hat the standard old Fed 3 or is it the standard Fed 4?
I think it looks fantastic.

Fantastic job, Fedoraiders!
As per the new picture rules, there are exceptions if you read the rule, but I'd suggest combining the Ford pic and your corresponding pic into a single side-by-side image. That'll help.

Excellent SOC style you have going on there! If you ever want me to provide an English translation of something you write in French I would be happy to do so, English is my first language, and I can understand anything you would write in French. I find it a little harder to translate things from English to French although I can do an "ok" job at it, so I realize how it must be for you writing in English. Keep up the painstakingly good work and keep us posted!

Wow, fedoraiders! I think that is definitely the most SA SOC hat I've seen outside of the film. VERY well done, sir! On a side note, I can't wait for someone to go to Kairouan in SOC get-up and take lots of re-enactment pictures one day - Pitfall, Mitch!

You just put me in pretty great company, Satipo... thank you!
Hey, maybe one day we'll BOTH go and do a "DoubleMint Twins" version of the Streets of Cairo!
(Guaranteed, though that if I ever DID go, I'd be asking fedoraiders to lend me one of his amazingly Screen Accurate lids!)

Re: My Federation Standard Reblock With my Own Block
I love my AB rabbit but it's not really styled after the SOC look. So, for a looong time I've been wanting to buy a second hat that I could put a SOC bash in. Between this hat, LLC's hats and Oak's...I'm foaming at the mouth to get one in this style.
I REALLY hope Fedoraiders considers selling or bashing hats because I'd LOVE to take some pics wearing one that he's had his hands on.

Man, your crazy if you don't start selling these babies...you could make a fortune off us. The sad thing is, I (and I'm sure many others here as well ) would be happy to make you rich in exchange for your work.

Re: My Federation Standard Reblock With my Own Block
WOW, i'm very happy to read your messages my friends.
Mitch Larue: Thank you very much for your good comments. I have a difficulty to understand the restrictions pictures. What is the difference with Thread and Post. My message with picture on the top, is it a Thread or Post?
LLS and Fedora: Thank you very much too for your good comments. It's very important for me to receive the good comment from you because I have more respect for you.
LLS: I wait with a impatience my Garrison Hat for my private collection, i'm certain that is realy realy good Cairo hat. I trust you very much and It's very good to make a buisness with you LLS.
Fedora: In 2006, i read on the net your story to how you start your Hat compagny and since this day, my dream is to become a great hatter like as you. This year, i would liked to buy your great Adventurebilt hat for my private collection but the wait list is too long and for me, it's very hard to wait. But I want absolutely your hat, maybe in 2010.
I read too on the Cow when David and yourself have spent some days to work together for the hats making, WOW, I am jealous of this, lol.
Pitfall Harry: I beleive that is the Fed 3 but the color when i bought this hat was realy to dark, i put the javel water in spray on this hat but I do not recommend this. It's very dangerous but I like to do the experiences. Thanks for your good omment.
bigrex: Thanks for your offer for translation my french, i appreciate and if i have trouble with a message, i will contact you, Thanks!
My english lesson is close for this summer but i will re-start my english lessons in Sepetmber.
MustangLoverMex: Hello Alfonso, i'm from to Quebec Canada. Thanks for you comment.
It's very long the process when i make the hat because i shape the hat on my head, i put the on my head and i look the shape on the mirror, i remove the hat, i make the modification and i re-put the hat on my head and so on. Often, i call my father for the test, i put my hat on his head and i watch on many angle. It is very funny to see my hat on the another head.
I have about 8000 pictures and screenshot from Raiders of the Lost Ark, Great Movies stunt and Making of Raiders of the Lost Ark. I look this picture the every day and i have a photo album with my 100 best hat pictures and i have always with me. i'm realy crazy and it's a realy obsession. Often, I look too the Screen Used hat.

Great job on bashing the hat. I think this is what needed . Is some time spent in front of some photo's when one is bashing a hat. To look at every angle as possible to get every little detail.
