SA Raiders Slider ~ Questions...

Post by Wade Egan »

Hey guys! Just wanted to get your opinion on something.

What finish would you say the original Raiders strap buckle was? AND If buying a new one today, would you prefer a 'pre-aged' version, or a shiny new version? :-k

I figured I'd ask the experts!!! Your input on this is greatly appreciated!

I assume that the buckles used during filming were surplus or at least pre-aged. Indy's gear was supposed to be lived in, and that means even the little metal buckles were distressed.

And for my preference, I prefer doing all the distressing myself, so new for me only if it's not SUPER shiny to begin with. However, it it's more cost effective for a pre-aged one, I'd go pre-aged.

I have not purchased from you yet Wade, but as soon as you get in those shipment of super-accurate buckles, you'll be getting a BIG order from me!

I'd like a new one too, but like Adventure Dog has said, not super shiny, a little shiny, but clean looking.

What if I offered a distressed model AND a shinier 'New' model which wouldn't be chrome shiny, but rather vintage shiny? How would that sit with you fellas?

I'd offer those two options, best to give people the choice.

Shiny is nothing a little sandpaper can't fix...don't see the necessity in pre-distressing a buckle.

i think offering both a distress and regular not distressed is a good idea Wade. PS i will be ordering some gear when you get them in.

I will be offering both a distressed and a un-distressed version.

At this time they are about one month out (5.23.09)

We're almost there.
