the pilots gun or Indy' gun

Post by your ghost host »

(Administrators please move this if it is in the wrong spot)

I was watching raiders and noticed the gun during the flying wing fight. I always thought it was Indy's but then I wondered when did he drop it.( if you remember one of the first times you see the gun when Indy goes for it on the ground then it goes under the wheel). then I went back and looked at the gun the pilot had and also realized he dropped his gun.
So the main question I am trying to get across is 'is the gun that Indy uses to get Marion out of the flying wing the pilots or his?'
and if it is the pilots gun can you identify it?

Thanks :D :) :D :)

Hey your ghost host,

Indy does indeed (I think, I've not watched Raiders in a while.) pick up his S&W when the plane rolls off of it. The pistol the pilot was using (if memory serves) was a Wather P-38. A double action semi auto 9mm issued to officers in WWII.

Hope that helps (...and it's right  )

You'd be correct on both counts.

Indy's gun most likely falls out of his holster when he rolls over backwards to avoid being run over by the plane. Right after he does this the camera zooms in on his revolver laying on the ground and the wheels going over it.

I'll have to check the movie again later, but I think the pilot drops his P-38 inside the cockpit when Marion bonks him on the head. Image
