Wested's New batch of Goat Raider's custm

Post by Heyjude7 »

Here's a Raider's Standard custom that i just got from Wested.
Size 40 Goat
Sleeve: 25in
Back:25.5in
Chest:23in ( i dont know why this would be but it is, no consistancy in their sizes, it should be 44in)

im havin OCD issues,i asked Holt, but i wanna know what everyone thinks also...
the front arm seams seem too high to me.. is it me?
Does the jacket look too big?
anything Ladies and Gents, need some feedback
i already soaked it and got the wrinkles in it

I didn't mean to seem short with my answer, but I really think it seems two sizes too large. The shot from the back and the one with your arms up illustrate that best.

I think it's big, but not "really big", although I think it's more too long than too wide. It reminds me a bit of the Imam's house fit (although yours is still baggier). A hot water treatment might be in order if you don't mind the sleeves getting shorter. That arm seam is off, and would bug me.

Looks a little big in the chest but not by a lot. It does look a bit long in the front less so from the back.

Nothing wrong with the arm seam. You are talking about the one on the sleeve aren't you? It always runs in the middle at the front of the arm.

Well, I think the seam is about an inch off. Actually, my theory is HeyJude7 wanted the arm seam below the yoke, so they rotated the sleeve, when they really should have raised the yoke (the yoke doesn't look high enough for Raiders). I don't know, I know it's not far off, but just looking at it, it seems like it'd be constrictive for some reason.

Time to go with a Gibson and Barnes! Guaranteed you won't miss with 40 from them! (if that's what you wear)

I'm trying to find the logic in the ordering.

If a 40 was to tight last time why order a 40 again? Unless you ordered a 40 "plus some room".

And as for the arm seams, mine usually line up with the inner edge of my thumbs when my arms are lose the my sides and held neutrally.

It does seem rather long, but the cut also seems rather slim.

Personally, I just had to return a novapelle jacket with a perfect cut, but the "copper" novapelle was just as dark as the old dark novapelle I purchased from them. I'm hoping they can send me some swatches of any lighter cowhides they may have in stock. They will work with you, but it is frustrating for both customer and vendor when things don't go as expected.

like I have said before. the armseam looks good. just like my raiders.

also like I have said in the past. you seem to get jacket that arent to big for you in chest ways, but they are to long in the body..

why dont you get a UK made jacket? then you can have it made a little shorter... I would do that if I were you...

just ask if they can make a standard or an 80's fit in your size 40. same price as the of the rack

oh and love the hide. soft goat is my favorite hide from wested nowdays..

to me it looks like a 42 or 44 it seems one size too big for you. Holt is right try custom. I have the same problem with suit jackets, broad shoulders and skinny waist, so to get a jacket that fits I have to go larger in the chest, and it looks too long or baggy on me. I think if you go with tailored measurements you'll get the jacket your looking for. Good luck.

as a normal everyday jacket, i think it looks great on you......if you want SA raiders, it's a tad on the long side.....the shoulders aren't that bad in my eye :D

I agree with G. Looks okay but for SA it's about 2 inches too long.

Cheers

I think it looks OK. As has been said it looks a little long.
Is it comfortable? It might be slightly large appearing in the chest when it's undone then again when it's done up it looks like it pulls a little across the chest.
Maybe you just need to wear it in a bit more.

so you are a 40 exactly because im a 38 and i didnt know how much room was on the regular fit from wested so i was thinking of ordering a 40. also how tall are you because you got the back length 25.5 and it looks a little too long and im getting a 26.5 because thats the length of crystal skull and im about 6'1" maybe a little more and if 26.5 is too long i should order a shorter one

IMO the horse is not a good choice for a raiders. TOO bulky.

IMO the lamb is still the best and then the soft goat.

I have the soft goat and it is nicely broken in by now. and boy do I love it now. I wasnt such a big fan of it when I got the jacket. but now..
