Six Year Old US Wings VIP Cow W/Pictures

Post by Redinight »

I was aksed in another thread to show some pictures of my jacket. I didn't take pictures of it or show it off when I first got it so here goes...

It's a six year old size XL USW VIP cowhide. Dosen't fit me well at all...I'm a 42R size in Wested. It had the sleeves shortened by at least an inch and a half. I aged it with light sand paper and threw it in the dryer several times. It was soaked while in a suitcase on a Europe trip... with water I assume. It's been to several countries. I wore it a lot in Amsterdam so I'm surprised I have it still because I left some memmories there.

I'm really happy with how this looks here, however it's very deceiving. The sleeve length is all wrong but because it's so big and hangs on me it can look good with the jacket opened. However when it's zipped up...no. When I'm driving the sleeves really ride up my arm. I really like the pocket placement on this jacket. How they on the side... The Wested needs to address this.

Wore it in Amsterdam? So it must smell like coffee, right?

Start calling it a CS jacket and people will excuse the loose fit.

 May I remind you that Amsterdam is more than coffee-shops and cozy lighting? ;-)

Yeah, It's definitely my LC/CS jacket. I'm thinking about adding some press studs. I also found my way to the Reichsmuseum in Amsterdam. :) I wanted to go to the Van Gogh as well but my friends just had to go to the Heineken factory/Museum. yeah.

I've gone to England, France, Italy, Lebanon, Syria, Jordon, Israel, Egypt, Mexico and Canada and all before I had any decent Indy gear. Since I got the gear, I really haven't been anywhere other than here in the U.S.

I need to go somewhere!!! 8)

Sounds like you're spending too much time and money on the gear!!!!!! :)

But seriously sometimes I wonder if my hobbies and my OCD assciated with them hold me back from the things I really want in life. But then again I'm going on twelve years of really enjoying SW and Indy and the X-files and Star Trek and...... In the end they really do inspire me. I guess Indy is my fashion...I don't buy holister and AE and what not. Those things are ridiculously priced gods know.

Anyway I want another Jacket from Wings even though I want SA. I'm sick

Actually: watch Raiders again - the Wested pocket placement is about right. On the windflap side it is about an inch from the flap. The Wings isn't SA, even if it does look good. ;-)

Best view of pocket placement is during the Temple scene when Indy is picking up his torch.

Mind you there were that many jackets used in the film that there might be a screen capture of a pocket like onur Wings... Anyone?

Watch the scene when Indy is coiling the whip back up after he whips the gun from Baranca. This is a nice close up and you see the pocket placement from the seem is not over enought on the OTR. At least my OTR

It's not SA on my USW for sure it's moved over too much, however the non stormflap side is more accurate.

EDIT: Wow, the OTR does look more accurate to the torch grab jacket. But dear lord that pocket flap!!!!! It's not doing it for me.
