who wears their fedora in street clothes?
i was wondering how many of us actually wear their fedoras everyday? what i mean is who here wears their hat without wearing their gear? and if you do, what do you usually wear it with? suits or jeans or what? perhaps people can post pictures of themselves wearing their hat without their gear? just a thought.
Thanks for reading,

I'm a hat nut, so I don't leave the house without one. Generally a fedora, and my Indy hats are just part of my normal rotation. I also have added a couple of caps recently (8-panel, that sort of thing).
Mainly, as long as I have a shirt with a collar (even worn open over a t-shirt) I can work a fedora into the mix. If you keep your Indy hat clean and fairly unrumpled, they have the advantage of looking as casual or as dressy as what you're wearing with it. It really is a "workhorse" lid. Even if you aren't an Indiana Jones fan, every hat wearer should have a basic brown fedora.

Hi,
I'm in Chewie's league of hat nuts, too. I wear a hat with most of my outfits, selecting the particular style and colour according to the rest of clothing... in fact I am known to do the reverse, and build the clothing ensemble around the hat I want to wear! Selection is according to colour combination/contrast, or the "style of the day", some hats being more formal/dressy-looking than others.
When I have a proper Indy hat (some time in the future) I will put it in the rotation, although probably will spoil the child with special attention
To work, I go with jeans, shirt, tie and suit jacket (tending to the sports type); out of it, I either wear the same, or omit the tie and substitute more colourful shirts, informal jackets, etc. I top it all with a hat. For summer, I take out the straw hats.
Besides that, I have just a summerweight newsboy at present, but I plan to acquire a couple more. These I use either for a change, or to combine with some outfits I do not like a hat with.
Regards!

I'm definitely an everyday hat wearer, and since I received my AB, that's been my hat of choice for everyday wear.
best wishes,

I won't lie... there are some mornings I can't wake up until I put my fedora on before making coffee. Nothing says "Good Morning" like a fedora and pajamas. Or boxers.Thats over sharing...
Oh, and I still have to tell you about my altercation with the police while campaigning this Saturday.
... I would never post them here. My own site... after age verification? We'll see.We should be grateful he didn't provide pictures for illustrative purposes.

I wear mine most of the time
Hi,
I wear my Fed IV when dressed in jeans, khakis, button down shirts, just about anything more than a T-shirt. When I go to work (I dress business casual for work) I'll wear a different "non-Indy" fedora, but still get "Hey Indy" comments.

I wear the hat often with all types of everyday wear. This week I'm traveling and am currently in Charleston, SC. Around town this morning I wore some carpenter shorts, a t-shirt, some sneakers and my AB and TN CS jacket. Once it warmed up a little I dropped the jacket.
I'll wear an AB with pretty much anything when I am outdoors. Indy jacket, hockey jersey, t-shirt, shoes, boots, sneakers, sandals, etc.

Thank you! And yes, that is a Dead Sea Scrolls bow tie. I also have a necktie with the Community Rule from the DSS--it's one of my favorites and is from the Dead Sea Scrolls Foundation: http://www.deadseascrollsfoundation.com ... ndise.htmlChewbacca Jones wrote:A brilliant example of the versatility I was talking about, Nebraska! Nice tie, too. Dead Sea Scrolls design?

Almost every day...regardless of what I am wearing. Yesterday, my wife and I drove over to Lawrence, Kansas to do some shopping and have lunch...I was wearing a red t-shirt with a dark blue Tilley outback shirt over it (un-buttoned) and jeans with my black Alden's and a grey Baron TOD style fedora.
Today, when I go to the polls to vote, I will wear jeans a T-shirt and another Tilley shirt over, jeans and my brown GHIJ fedora! W>

I've worn vintage clothing from the 30s, 40s and 50s every day for the last eight or nine years, so people who know me are always weirded out when I am NOT wearing a hat.
Tennessee Steinmetz, the chance of there being two people on this board who both have screen names taken from characters from The Love Bug always seemed impossible to me.
Weird.

I wear a lid every day, if not my Adventurebilt (which is about 95% of the time), then I have a wide brimmed tan Akubra, an old cream coloured Stetson Open Road, a dark brown Robert Hall, and I have a few generic black wool ones I wear once in a while to change things up.
This is the Akubra.
and the Stetson. It's the only vintage hat I own.
