Making a shirt... please help (anything!)

Post by Repairman Jack »

Making a homemade Indy-shirt has proved to be quite an undertaking... Can anyone provide some specs from the NH shirt (material, measurements)? I wear a size medium (15 1/2 neck size), so if anyone could PM me with measurements taken from their own shirt I'd be much obliged... also, if anyone has some pics of the back of the shirt, I'd appreciate them to. Has anyone else tried to make a shirt at home, and would you care to share the experience?

Thank you,
RJ

I did some measurements from my XXL NH and here is what I have. The shirt was not photographed flat but the measurements should be correct.

Would these measurements lead you to building a screen accurate shirt? No. But they will get you in the ballpark. Personally, I really like the pleats down the front and in the pocket and the epaulettes. Screen accuracy on the shirt is not paramount for me. I just like it's unique style.

All of these features could be debated the same way pocket placement and felt color.

Cheers,
Pyro.
