Um... yours? The side brim makes me want to say Gary White for some reason, but I can't be sure...

Judging by the ribbon & bow I'll say it it is a Camptown 1936 Fieldmaster with a very cut down brim. Anyway the color looks like a Fieldmaster too.

Cheers!

the felt colour looks like HJ/Christies/SAB. if other members have identified the ribbon as a camptown.....perhaps an HJ reblocked by camptown....thats my guess :D

The thickness of the felt doesn't say HJ/Christy's to me. Just a tad too thick, but then again I could be wrong there.

Cheers!

then again, you could be right. i didn't notice the thickness until now. the colour is exactly like the HJ's i've had though which is why i guessed that....but you have a really good point.

so i'm revising my guess......it's 2 HJ's!!! glued together to make one hat, reblocked by camptown, and then sent to indiana G to have..........so.......am i right blooze or what? :P

Something on that bow makes me think Penman... So, I'd guess that at least he had his fingers on it one way or the other.

It's a reblocked Dorfman Pacific Official Fur felt fedora. It might be vintage- maybe mid 90's.

My best guess would be a Camptown or Vintage HJ on an AB block. Any way you cut it, that crown is fantastic!

Hmm...a custom BCF hat that's been cut down, reblocked, and given a new ribbon? I only say that because I did that once, and the color seems a close match.

Since all the info is on the tread, and the close ones include a Camptown ribbon while a Peters Brothers is half good, I would say it's a Peters Brothers with a Camptown ribbon. :?

I know, I shouldn't even try this yet untill I know more about hats, but I like playing detective

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!!! :-* :-* :-*

It is my old beloved PB, reworked by you guessed it, the new kid on the block, Bending Oak. This is what it looked like before:
Image

And another shot after:
Image

Oak was a little concerned the old PB wouldn't quite be up to a reblock, and the last thing in the world he wanted to do was rip his first reblock in two. I assured him if that happened, he could send me a Morgan whip, or an AB or two and we'd be even, (just kidding). I told him if it were to rip in two, what better way for an Indy hat to die, than giving itself for the betterment of Indy Fedoras the world over. The old PB was a rascal, and it did give him a fit or two, but it turned out beautiful. My hands of stone bash couldn't even screw it up too bad. Well done John. My hat, (PB of course), is off to you ::)

I agree that it really turned out great. Bending Oak really did a great job on that PB.

as for guessing right, like you said: all I needed to know was in this thread.

I just hope they don't start hitting the newby on account of winning on a lucky guess  [-o<

always put your money on this guy, he has a good eye for this stuff.

I had a Petersbrothers with the same short brim that I re-blocked and it ripped during the process. This is where my stress came from. I still don't know why they cut their brim so short.

Just a FYI, This is not my first re-block. Just my first re-block for someone else. I had re-blocked some of my old cheap hats and thats why there are some hats I just won't work on because I know they will rip in the process. I took a risk on this one because of the brotherhood between myself andd blooze..

Blooze , I thin you did a real good job bashing it.
