Post by The Penitent Man »

All i know about aging a fedora is feullers earth is used to simulate the sweatstains and dirt. Anybody have any additional insight on what technique and color choices you apply to get that favorite dirty fedora shot...also PLEASE POST SOME PICS!!!!!!!

Ummm.... bury it, jump on it, sit on it, swim in it.... real dirt / dust works just as well as Fuller's Earth too and its easier to apply. If you just throw Fullers Earth at the hat it will go on in too concentrated a way, unless you have enough quantity to cover the entire hat in one go.

Real dirt works best for longest IMHO:

..Give it to Ken to wear while filming a movie, that'll do it!
