Action Pleat Placement

Post by Flash Gordon »

On your Wested jackets, are the action pleats flush with the arm seam, or are they in a little?

On mine, the right side is an inch in from the arm seam, and the left one is almost an inch-and-a-half from the seam.

Also, I've had to tighten the straps all the way to get the right fit, and now the leather is all bunched up.

It's my first Wested. I've had it a week-and-a-half and I really like it, but I was wondering if those two things are normal.

Mine is fine. I not as anal as some gearheads about screen accuracy. Personnally I like the few minor flaws in my jacket... it makes it a one of a kind. But your problem sounds a little bit more than minor, I'm not a fountain of knowledge when comes to this sort of thing. Come on guys give the newbie a hand, I'm afraid I can't help.

Mine's one-quarter inch from the arm seam (thread line in arm seam) to the edge of the back pleat flap). Of course, I'm not sure from what point to point you're measuring.

My Wested justs keeps getting better and better with wear. I'm also not as concerned with total screen accuracy -- not that there's anything wrong with that!

Cheers,

Harry
