Unfortunately the #### thing is THAT much outta my price range, that it seems like this is going to be a one time, never again piece

The price *I* was charged was 99 Euro

Looks nice though...

Looks very nice. I'm sure buying large quantities would bring the price down, but that means, probably, buying by the hundreds.

Those are some really nice looking hat boxes!!! I've looked online, but can't find "nice" ones like these. Where should I go to get a "nice" one? I know a lot of you guys travel all around the world, and you have to have a travel hat box (unless you wear yours 24/7). I don't see how else one would pack his hat for travel unless he had a hat box. Thanks for any input.

If you travel with a hat box on an airplane, would that count as your carry-on bag or a personal item such as a woman's purse, a briefcase, or a small backpack? I know when I travel with my trumpet, the musical instrument is my carry on, then I get a personal bag (like my MarkVII or a small backpack with a book to read stuffed inside), and my CPAP unit which is and exempt medical device.

Marc, I, too, would like to know where you got your hat box, even at that price. To protect an investment in an Adventurebilt Deluxe, that box could last for many trips and end up paying for it's usefulness. What material is it made of?

Well, I have 2 straw hats I wear depending on what I'm wearing, and when I get my AB from Marc (or when the other one comes from Steve), I'll be taking that with me as well. Then, sometimes, I don't want to wear a hat at all. So I'm left with taking a card board box that one of the hats came in, and they get ratty and tattered really quick if you know what I mean. Plus, you have to pack it on top of everything so that it doesn't get crushed. I need a sturdy hat box (suitcase?) to bring all my hats in. Folks used to use them, so I know they are out there. I just have to find one. There are plastic "cowboy" ones at one of the cowboy stores just down the road from me, but I wanted something a little nicer and better looking that some "plastic" thing.

If it can fit under the seat in front of you, then it would qualify as the "personal item". I don't think it would fit, though, in which case it would be a carry-on destined for the overhead compartment.

All cool hatboxes. I usualy just wear my hat but sometimes I need a hatbox. I use a plastic hard shell case, this one in fact...

It has a molded in hat jack inside to keep the hat from flopping all over the place and can take a knock or two with out driving me crazy.
