YOUR fedora's!!

Post by Mississippi Jones »

Hey guys! I'm trying to get an idea of what bash and style fedora I want. I've looked all through this site and I've found some good pics. So now I want to ask EVERYONE to post their pics of them in their fedoras. So myself and others can have a main thread to turn to.

NOTE: I know the Raiders crease is THE most popular hat on the market, and you guys are more than welcome to post your Raiders hats on here..please do so in fact! But you guys who have the TOD, LC, and KOTCS creases are the one's I'm REALLY interested in! I WANT to see those TOD and LC and KOTCS bashes! So everyone, post your pics and turn this thread into a collection of Indy fedoras!

Thanks!

I'm more of an LC man myself, but my hats sort of 'evolve' into their own style by my daily wear, tear and use, so it's hard to say WHAT mine ends up looking like after the day is over.

Heh! I know what you mean, Michaelson! All of my cowboy hats start off looking good, but after a couple of years of dirt, rain, and bulls they look like something else!

This was my first Indy fedora from Dorfman Pacific before I found out wool is only good for suits. I had to rebash it because it wasn't SA AT ALL. This is the best that I could do with what I was given. I've sold it and am awaiting my Keppler and ordering another hat. I'm actually into a raiders and LC hybrid bash, somthing like KotCS. Not a real fan of the tapered TOD. But I like the LC brim and the raiders bash.

Here is my federation regular. Don't have my AB handy but its a standard bash from Steve. This one has become kinda evolved from just my regular wear. Its a bit dirty and beat up but hey it sees a lot of life.

Here is my custom PB that i've had for 4 years now and has been threw some rain stoms and plenty of hikes. I originaly had it bashed in LC but i love the tight pinch from Raiders. So I bashed it a little to give it that look.

Tron
Hey there, Tron,

You may have already said this on another forum, but I figured I'd ask it here. How is the quality of the HJ compared to the AB and Federation? It stands to reason that the AB is in a league of its own, but do you notice much difference between the Fed and the HJ (aside from cost and the tweaks Steve gave the Magnoli)? I have both on order, but why I ask is that your picture really highlights the quality of the AB as it sits next to the HJ. The HJ seems to show off a bit more sheen and doesn't have the richness of the AB (which goes without saying), and I was curious as to how it compared to your Federation (before the application of Fuller's Earth). There have been a lot of criticisms regarding the quality of the HJ, and I'm wondering if that is aimed at the details of its construction (which Steve improves upon) or goes all the way down to the quality of the fur itself. Cheers.

Thanks alot for the compliments on the hat. It has served me very well over the years. But can't wait to add the AB-Deluxe to my collection.

Lol yes needed something to keep it up, it has become my regular hat stand. Though I think I have a great idea to tell George for hes next movie idea. New topic "indiana jones and master cheif are they one in the same?"

On second though a terible idea.

everyday! I am a sub teacher in the local schools, and one day when I showed up lidless,
everyone was asking, "Where's your hat?!"

My Raiders-style AB Deluxe is just bashed with my own generic "Raiders" bash (both my ABD's came open-crown). It's not really modeled after a specific scene, though if I had to pick a hat I was trying to emulate the most, it would probably be the Cairo Fedora, (my personal favorite) as my hat has "the turn", the slight channel in the right dent (some folks call it a pleat, but mine isn't sewn in and I'm not convinced the Raiders hat was either, but that's a topic for another thread) the straighter sides (as opposed to the Raven bar or Idol grab hats, which both seemed to exhibit a bit of taper from certain angles) and all that. It's just not anywhere near as beat up as a true "SOC" should be, and of course, it's not covered in dusty dirt, either.

I guess this is about the best front view pic of my Adventurebilt:

Image

And there's this one.

And the side view.

I think the peak has always been a bit high in front, but I like it just fine the way it is.

Rica's is an old 'official licenced' fedora and doesn't look much like that anymore.
