$100 dollars for a wool fedora. A bit much in my opinion.

When I was a kid, round about 1984 my Dad & Mom bought me one of those.
It was black, and it had a Temple of Doom logo inside the hat.
I ran through the forest with it, jumped in the lake with it, rolled around in the dirt in it, dug up the back yard in it...
Didn't matter that I didn't look like Indiana Jones. It mattered that I felt like Indiana Jones.

And that's all that really matters. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have a screen accurate lid, though

A grey/gray DP would be pretty cool. Anyone agree?

Why buy a DP when you can get a Federation for the same price or cheaper?

I saw a black FURFELT dorfman on ebay, that looked interesting, and it was selling for the average furfelt dorfman price. I think it's crazy that they're selling the wool hat for the same price as others are selling the fur felt for, but then again, Indy IV's already a well established coming soon movie, and that is starwars.com (IE, not a fan site or random memorabilia vendor). I just hope this doesn't influence dorfman sales all over, as even though they're not worth the felt they're made from, I'd still like to get me an official fur indy for collector's sake.

Wow. They will sell anything with the Indy Pin on it eh? Looks more like a hat the bad guys wore in the old westerns. I wonder how many other colors we will see....

Not sure why that one's so much...
Usually between eBay and DP vendors out there, wool "Indy" fedoras run $20-$40, and the fur felt's are $80-$100 or so typically.

I still have about 4 of those wool hats from my childhood. I suppose I could sell them as "Vintage" Indy hats -- at $100 a pop for new black ones, I could surely fetch $500 for the vintage ones...(obviously I am joking)

This authentic outback shape Indiana Jones Black Fedora Hat
Why is an official Lucas site talking about an "authentic outback shape"? This could back the Nadoolman "Australian model" quote.

... believe me... No one in the 'outback' in Australia would be wearing anything like a hat that looks like that. What a steaming load of monkey brains.

Again, it bothers me that such a snobby elitist tone is being taken here.
This is just my opinion and you know what they say about those, but most of us got into the gear hobby back in the day through products like this.
Count your good fortunes that many of you came into the circle after decades of work was done to achieve the screen correct products.

Exactly! So, where does the idea even come from, if it isn't a Lucas-approved legend that the Raiders hat was some kind of Australian deal?

This authentic outback shape Indiana Jones Black Fedora Hat
To me they are just saying this is an outback shaped hat and then tagged Indiana Jones on to it. It is an outback styled hat, or just like some I have seen from other brands. They are using the name Indy to sell the hat. Sorta like what Miller did when they had several offerings of the Indy hat, one even with a leather strap for a band once upon a time. This is marketing only and I would not draw any conclusions or tie ins with Deborah's statement of the "Australian model" IMHO. Fedora
