New AB Deluxe w. Pics

Post by Alabama Jones »

I was fortunate enough to be able to get one of Marc's INCREDIBLE beaver fur hats, and well, I sort of feel like I've reached the top of the mountain of Indy hats; a LONG ways up from the 1984 Stetson.

The first thing that struck me about this hat was the FEEL, unbelievable. I already knew it was going to look good, but there is no way to describe how (and this may sound funny for an adventure hat but) LUXURIOUS this beaver fur feels, SO soft and supple, pure quality.

I've got some pics but my crappy camera doesn't do justice and I almost hesitate to post them, plus it was my first bash from scratch and well, it looks like it. The color is NOT greyish, like it looks, but more the warm chocolate color you've seen in others' pics.

Oh, and I swear I heard the Ark theme as I lifted it out of the box.

Marc, you are a talented and very professional artist, not to mention a truly nice guy with service to match your excellent product. Thanks for your patience and understanding to all my questions. I tip my hat to a fine gentleman. 8)

My bash is still a work-in-progress, ( took a day for it to really respond) and I know its going to just get better, in spite of me. Its that nice, beautiful and rugged.

Again guys, there's NO way pics can do these hats justice. You have to hold one for yourself. If there is anyway possible I highly recommend adding one of these beauties to your stable.

Yep. I've had MANY hats in between over the years mind you, but Steve and Marc's are at the top in my experience. A direct step from 84 Stetson to AB Deluxe could be fatal.

Thanks guys! The center dents still need some work and I'm hoping I didn't turn it TOO much, but I'M REALLY LOVIN' THIS HAT.

 I tawt I saw a Tone. Thanks man, I was catching up a little since I got it and noticed that AWESOME HJ. Excellent! You always were the master of the Cairo, though I don't think its fair to use that screen accurate head. :D

Thanks Prairie. I consider that high praise just going on your avatar. Cheers!

Darth, brim dimensions are 2 1/2 sides, 2 3/4 front and back on 5 1/2 " crown.

Thanks Suess! You really can't ask for anything more.

I forgot to mention the awesome roo hide sweatband and I'm pretty sure the ribbons are from the same source HJ used in the films (Marc or Steve correct me if I'm wrong here).

Also, I would be remiss if I didn't mention G-MANN who inspired me with his hats and hooked me up with Marc. Without him I probably wouldn't have one.
