Indy Revolver pour mois?

Post by 191145 »

I've been thinking about getting a revolver, belt and holster for when I want to go 'full out' Indy. I'm too cheap to pay for a 1917 then have it chopped to 4", so I'm always looking for a decent substitute. I may be in the running for a free gun from a relative - supposed to be a cop's pistol from the '50s. That's all I know, but chances are it's a S&W Model 10 .38 Special with a 4" barrel. This would be great in a Victory holster. Sure, it would be great if it was a Colt Government Model, but that still wouldn't help the Indy thing. Fortunately it's in-state so I won't have any 'Imperial involvement'. The old standby police .38 Special looks very much like an Indy revolver, even up close, and is actually a lot of fun to shoot. It's probably in nice shape, so I'll have to rough it up some - that means I'll have to buy a WWII Mercedes truck to drag it behind!

I have a Victory which is very Indy for me. Heck, if it's a free gun, how can you go wrong?

If you use the search feature and type in "Smith & Wesson" you'll get a bunch of threads which talk about various Indy gun possibilities.

Well, it didn't happen. I never even saw the gun and didn't even find out what it was. I have a High-Power set-up for Indy purposes anyway but like the revolver deal better.
